Dreadful and amateurish. After being given a menu the server came to the table to collect it, asked if I was ready to order. When I said yes I was told to order at the counter. I ordered the breakfast baguette. No cutlery was supplied so I had to request some and found the knife was so dull the baguette was uncuttable. The cheese was melted over cold ham and other contents. No bacon options for breakfast.

Great place to stop for lunch if you’re travelling in the area. Delicious fresh food, yummy cakes, biscuits and baguettes all home made. Great for lunch or a morning or afternoon tea. Highly highly recommended.

I have been visiting this place for the last few months and liked it for its location and the service until my last visit !! I visited this place yesterday with my family and the experience wasn’t that pleasant as it use to be, I didn’t like the presentation from the beginning as I got my coffee which was spilled on the saucer(pic attached). I tried the Lindt Masala Cake, which didn’t have much taste of the Lindt chocolate but was rather like a mud cake. The pine nut cake was pretty nice though and the coffee was not as good as it was, when I had it for the first time and I was like«this is probably the best coffee». Though it was the same barista who made it but I suppose they were pretty busy so barista wasn’t that great with quality and quantity combination. Overall I would rate this café three star because of my last visit otherwise, it’s a nice little place on the sassafras strip:)

Loved this cozy little shop tucked away in the mountains. Everything from the rich décor to fragrant coffee and beautiful little cakes were just lovely. So much attention to detail and I enjoyed the romantic but relaxed french atmosphere. I would love to go back someday!

Café de Beaumarchais is the café cum cake shop that Melbourne has been wringing its hands for. It’s not your usual hipster or otherwise pretentious hang-out that focuses solely on coffee to the detriment of where both décor and food become spartan afterthoughts. By contrast, Café de Beaumarchais is an all-rounder beauty — consistently friendly and focused service, a simple menu complemented with simple but mouthwatering cakes, pastries and other sweet irresistibles, all enclosed within a beautifully decked-out French nook secluded in the hills of Mount Dandenong. For a decadent morning or afternoon tea at a non-decadent price, it comes with our highest recommendation. /
