** UPDATE ** Attended a couple of months ago, and we were told somewhat abruptly by one of the waitstaff that the Chef refused to alter the ‘Green Bean’(they had changed the way it was done since the last time we visited). That’s ok, we refuse to be spoken to like that in a café which was nearly empty at the time. Had it been a super busy affair then we may have been more understanding, but the change was not a significant one to make(mixing the pesto into the eggs rather than merely drizzling). The portion size had decreased as well. For around $ 16 a serve, is it too much to ask for mixing as opposed to drizzling, or for that matter, any which way you like it? Am sure the coffee is still good, but the service was decidedly not on this occasion. Too many other choices nearby to have to accept a serving of attitude for breakfast.

I’ve bean to the bean a few times now. The coffee is decent, the breakfasts very good! Service was good and I like the classic movie and music posters. I had a very filling lamb and chorizo stew from the specials menu, delicious chunks of crunchy prosciutto warmed up my rainy weekend. The breakfast options are lovely too, it’s the focus of the menu so best to visit for a late sunday breakfast.

A great traditional café establishment in Rozelle that has experienced longevity. The whole establishment is quite different now in look and feel to keep up with the trends of the times. A great locale for a long breakfast on any given weekend; and especially if you have done Rosebud to death: that much needed change is much more welcoming. Welcome the big breakfast. Bacon, eggs, hot tomato, hash browns and mushrooms: the bean does it so well. Wash it off with a café latte(one sugar) and you are set for the day. Great to have this with people. A great establishment which attracts dog lovers and their dogs in particular, and is also the default location to take your mum out to for breakfast on mothers day. The service is excellent, and the ambience is satisfyingly inviting. You could easily spend a couple of hours at this establishment; yet a coffee alone would not do this establishment any justice. You have to have some breakfast too. Taking it all in and enjoying yourself is the aim of the game here at this café. Once you are a fan here you will always remain a fan. You just have to be in the mood for it.

Busy, contemporary, youthful, and has all day breakfast! I love this little café on darling street, its an awesome place to sit back and relax or meet up with friends. The menu’s pretty big so you have some variety, and the prices are reasonable, at between $ 10 and $ 15. Its one of those places that tries to mix it up a bit in appearance and décor, with a real modern feel that attracts a younger group. Friendly staff, and cool posters covering the wall, and a pretty seductive menu. Its a «Try something new each time you come» type place. Why not come and sit outside with you dog — the bean has provided a bowl for your dog to drink out of, which I think is a cool way of giving a modern place a bit of heart.
