This café is all about George. He’s the old bloke who cooks away happily in the kitchen of this humble little Rozelle café. George looks like a real old-Balmain type(though I don’t know his background). He’s at once stern and a bit of a joker, he cooks what he feels like and the result is satisfying, simple food. This café is a real hang for parents with prams, and there are many places to sit, if you’re happy sitting on little wooden boxes. The coffee is reliable and flavoursome, though not super strong. It’s a chilled out little place with no pretensions.

Latticini looks like it should be good. Looks can be deceiving. There’s something off about this place and I’m yet to work out exactly what vibe they’re going for. Trying to be trendy but misses the mark, perhaps trying to be rustic but is too stark. Occasionally I’ve ended up here when Café Negro has been closed and whilst the coffee isn’t awful, it isn’t great either. This place seems like it should be more charming, but it’s lacking in … well, charm.

A great chill out spot if you want to give Rosebud and Lazio a bit of a break; and you don’t mind eating inside at this cute, small but trendy locale. It is cute and cosy, and a great Saturday(or even Sunday) morning spot for reading a paper and lifestyle magazines with a trendy setup which includes cushions and polished floorboards. Great service; a great locale for going with the flow; your wearing cargo pants and sandals or thongs with your sunnies to your head, and you want a quality latte(it doesn’t have to be the best latte you have ever tasted) however it needs to be good; and either it has to be complimented with some toast or a berry or almond friand. This is a divine concoction at this establishment that wants you coming back for more and more on an odd weekend. Just take it all in and let the morning unfold as you relax prior to working out what you are planning on doing for the rest of this given day on a weekend. Great either alone or with company. I don’t know; however personally(at this establishment) I would prefer to eat and drink in peace: alone.
