On my mission to try every Japanese restaurant without actually going to Japan(soon I hope!), I decided on lunch at Sushi Den in Rose Bay. It’s not exactly the prettiest buidling, but being set right on the harbour(albeit on the otherside of New South Head Road), you don’t get a much better setting! I went for a serving of the kingfish carpaccio($ 14.50), which was beautiful, light and fresh! Just what I needed for a quick lunch. The service was prompt and friendly, probably because it wasn’t too busy(although it was starting to get a bit of a lunch rush as I was leaving). Definitely worth a visit.

If you love fresh, delicious, simple sushi then you are going to love Sushi Den. I discovered this place not long after it opened and I’ve been hooked ever since. I was even convinced they were lacing their food with some illegal substance because I simply couldn’t get enough. Situated on New South Head Road across from Rose Bay you’ll find this special sushi place which has continued to grow because of its excellent quality. The food is fantastic and fresh. The salmon sashimi melts in your mouth like butter and after eating a full meal you feel satisfied and healthy. I’m addicted to the Salmon Sashimi salad. It’s fresh salmon layered on top of cabbage with the most delcious Japanese dressing and salmon caviar — simply the best — even writing about it now makes me want to stop by for a snack. Simple, healthy, beautiful food. A must try.
