I’ve already said this somewhere else I think, but I’m very very fussy when it comes to fish & chips. For me, there’s nothing worse than bad fish & chips. Fish Lovers was recommended to me by some friends and it didn’t disappoint. I’m not from the area so I felt a bit out of my depths but I’m so glad I went here. Fish & chips can just be greasy, fattening, sickening and gross however, I have to say the opposite about Fish Lovers. As an overall experience, I’d rate it the top fish & chips restaurant I’ve been to in Brisbane. The chips could be a bit crispier but they were lovely nonetheless, and the fish was to die for. Not.even.kidding. When you go here, order a massive piece of Cod or something, they just do fish so well here it’s ridic. It can be quite exy but oh so worth it. It’s also quite popular but you won’t have to wait too long. There’s sit in or take-away options, as well as both cash and card payment methods. The standard of food at Fish Lovers is top notch and I can promise you won’t get disappointed. If you’re into good fish and chips it’s the place to try!

I grew up in the Rosalie area of Milton/Paddington. Where stands Fish Lovers now actually used to be this huge auto mechanic’s warehouse. When that was pulled down and shops grew from the ashes I was totally stoked to a fish and chippery established. In the beginning, I guess Rosalie Village and its shops were trying to find their feet as more young families and professionals moved into the area. Those days were awesome, especially getting food from Fish Lovers. Most of the menu was relatively cheap. To this day they still have the 6 cocktail pieces and chip deal for under $ 8. However, as the popularity of Rosalie has grown so have the prices on the menu. You’ll find that on a night out, a meal can cost you on average $ 15 at a minimum. The thing to remember is that Fish Lovers isnt just some greasy hole in the wall takeaway, they’re specialists. Therefore the price you pay is exactly worth the quality of the goods. The service is also really efficient and friendly. I can definitely recommend Fish Lovers as a place to go out to for dinner. Just make sure if you’re planning a meal trip on Thursday, Friday or Saturday night you either book ahead or make a take away order. Its gets mad busy there.

This place is definitely not the cheapest«Fish and Chip» place in Brisbane, but it is a pretty good one. As stated in previous reviews, I am not a fan of ‘Fish and Chips’ but when I do get it, I like it to be fresh and not too oily. At ‘Fish Lovers’, I feel like the fish is cooked to my desire. It took me a while to check this place out, it was not until someone recommended this place to me that I actually bothered. I came here on a very busy Saturday night to order takeaway, what initially surprised me was that this places charges more than other places(a meal with fish, chips and salad costs over $ 15). But when I noticed how the staff were picking out fish straight from the display fridge and bringing it to the kitchen, I realised the reason they charge these prices is because all of the fish they sell is cooked fresh. Nothing is cooked from frozen and the fact that they have the fish out on display for everyone to see shows that they have nothing to hide. I was pleased by how my fish was cooked, it was moist and not dripping with oil, as it should be! I can not write anything about the service as I only got my food to takeaway. Fish lovers is great little place for anyone who is a little picky about how they like their Fish and Chips cooked. It may be a bit pricier, but it is worth it.
