I’m pretty sure I’ll still be able to pick up a good hotdog for lunch. Not sure if I’ll make it back there for breakfast. A few weeks back I went here for breakfast for the first time on my RDO. I had found some good cafes. Just not locally. Finally I had found one that did an awesome Bacon and Eggs on toast. The eggs were fresh, the bacon great, and the toast was a beautiful continental bread. I was hooked. However I returned this morning and got 2 slices of pain bread toast that tasted like the home brand loaf I get from Foodland. On top of this my toast had not been buttered for me. Instead they had placed 2 small peel and open tubs on the plate meaning I had to move the eggs off of the toast butter the bread that looked like it had been baked, not toasted to butter it, then put the eggs back on again. In my clumsiness I broke one of the eggs. STUPIDME, I KNOW. But it’s the first time I have had to butter my own toast. Now I think it may be under new owners there. That’s the only reason I can think of why the quality of the awesome breakfast I had a few weeks back was very ordinary today. So next RDO it’s either back to the out of the way awesome café I found a few suburbs over, or looking for a new local for breakfast.

Tucked into the Croydon Shopping Centre(in Ridleyton — go figure) is the Apace Café. They do the fairly standard range of breakfasts plus a nice mix of gourmet sandwiches and some decent hot food such as steak sandwiches. Their hot chips are nicely done too. Their coffees are good, using Fair Trade beans(a Plus)
