Friendly and accommodating service, although it took some time for the food to come out, say approx 45 to 50 mins. Once the food came out, it was quite delicious. I had sizzling Mongolian beef and fried rice, delicious! Restaurant’s décor dates back to the eighties, I felt I was in a cosy log cabin.

The service was slow. We had to keep reminding that we were here. The food was very average. Service was not up to standard. Being treated like we were not important.

I’ve eaten here a few times, and have never been disappointed. Had Sizzling Garlic Prawns tonight. Fantastic! As I walked out of Mandarin Coin I mentioned to my friends, «You can tell it’s a good restaurant when every plate you pass is empty»… That’s what I saw as I walked out of Mandarin Coin. They provide meals that are great, and the service is very very good. LOVEIT!

This place has great tasting Chinese at good prices(you end up spending about $ 15 each for take away), so you can’t really go wrong! I’ve been getting braised steak and cashew nuts /steak and black bean from Mandarin Coin for years now and I’ve never had anything to complain about — except for their exposed brick interior. Service is always friendly and there is always a few people waiting for takeaway in their little back room. I’ve only dined in the restaurant a few times and have always enjoyed it when I have. If you live in the North East — I very much recommend it for dinner if you’re feeling like come Chinese food! Just the name, Mandarin Coin confuses me. Is a mandarin shaped into a coin supposed to be of monetary value? — you can always try.
