Fantastic!!! Tapas was so delicious. We had a couquet and a meatball to start — super tasty. The chorizo with apple and fennel was amazing and the noodles with pumpkin, goats cheese and pine nuts was so satisfying and balanced. Brilliant wine list. Each wine by the glass comes from one of the best possible regions for the varietal. Tempranillo was one of the best ive had. Gorgeous place to sit with good slaff and interesting décor. Absolutely loved it and will go back.

Really dig this place! We came here for a birthday dinner on Friday night and could not have been happier. The service was über friendly, the sangria was dangerously delicious(and not too sweet at all), and the food ranged from really good to — at times — beyond words: only appropriate for staring at your partner across the candlelit table with wide eyes and a little drool hanging from the corner of your mouth. We tried the saganaki, calamari, and papas bravas tapas, which were all great value for money and tasty(my favourite was the calamari). For mains we shared a house salad and the suckling pig, which was delectable. Had it not been for the fact that my pants were bulging at the seams by this point we would definitely have ordered the churros for dessert! The décor was weird, sure. I didn’t like the sequined bull but was quite partial to the sequined elephants!

Amazeballs. Looks like a quirky pub from the outside, but inside… Great atmosphere, amazing food, top-notch service, great wine list… A perfect evening. Will be back again soon.

Service is friendly here, and the décor chic, but the food is a touch pricey in terms of value for money. On our last visit we ordered the«special» for the night which was a lamb shank, my t was huge and tasty but very expensive.

*Review incomplete This place has great reviews, but it wasn’t that great. Random-themed pub with trinkets everywhere. Some food was good, and service was fab, but my paella wasn’t really a paella. It was very mediocre and very small.

Never again! Possibly one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had! My squid came out with what looked like dark black poo on it… Yeah no thanks! The waitress clearly thought she was above us and turned her nose up every time we had a question, we had almost finished our meals by the time our champagne arrived at the table and just over all left a very sour taste! Great potential, fantastic ambience but rude staff and bad food.

I’m giving the place three stars because all the waiting staff have fabulous French accents and the décor is kitschy which is my thang. I met a couple of peeps here one night for a drink and nibbles after work. Visualise a shared bottle of Domaine Chandon, pan fried calamari, duck liver pâté and potato croquettes. The food was good but it wasn’t magical or special — I’d still go back and give it another chance though.

Saganaki — yum Tuna ceviche — delicious Olives — good Mushrooms — very good Bread — good Garlic prawns — average Chorizo — average Meatballs — average Calamari — average Tapas around $ 18 each which for the size of some of them was definitely expensive but for me tonight the tuna cevichi was a standout dish, great portion size, fresh and full of flavour! Service was good although it was quite difficult to understand our servers accent. Would I come back? Probably not. There are too many more amazing places to eat in Melbourne…

Overpriced drinks, overpriced food, I am better than you customer service. All for shocking drinks, food that I had to spit out & a bar man who needed to finish polishing the wine glasses before I got any service. Do not waste your time!

Good paella. Inventive restaurant decorations.

Visited Bouzy Rouge on Saturday night, unfortunately we dined off their tapas menu. There was no freshness of flavor in the prawn’s, the Tuna ceviche tasted exclusively of chili and the chorizo may well have been kabana from the supermarket. Melbourne’s tapas standard far exceeds the fare put up by Bouzy, best to look elsewhere.

DAMMIT! Mav to Goose :‘Eject Eject Eject’! … Pork Belly got me again OK … let me get this straight. I originally had intentions of NOT getting the pork belly but what do you know, it was on the specials list so down the hatch it goes. :) At least I got a picture of it this time before my fat gob ate it. OK… so for Entrée, had«Pacific»(wtf) oysters with lime and Tabasco, good — but had better. my dining partners had the Kingfish(which looked good) plus the blood sausage paella — which tasted great despite the potential for black poo tomorrow morning: P Cos salad with blue cheese was sweet and tangy at the same time and Kingfish was sweeeeet bro. had some Spanish white wine(I guess… since it ended in… lho :P) tangy and helped break down the fat. The first time I went to the Bouzy Rouge I knew it was going to be good. It was one of those occasions where everyone looked happy: the customers, the staff and the people who were coming out after a drink or meal. A happy environment is key to having a great experience. The Bouzy Rouge didn’t let me down. The dining area is sleek and comfortable. Enormous cushioned seats that stick out of the walls and hanging chandeliers give it a sense of luxury but the service is friendly enough to make the setting more about ease and comfort than a rigid dining experience. I’m a sucker for calamari so I usually have that to start, it’s chilli salted and comes with aioli and lime. Its fresh and spicy and for only $ 17 I never bat and eyelid when ordering. I usually share a main, last time my partner and I worked our way through the beef cheek braised in red wine with asparagus and polenta($ 30). It’s soft and rich, and perfect on a cold night. Unfortunately I haven’t had the opportunity to drink at Bouzy Rouge yet as I am usually the driver. But I’m setting aside an occasion where I’ll be able to sample the wine menu and let you all know what I think.
