Admitted into the Epworth on Friday after my lapband slipped causing me a weekend emergency admission. The service was great. Nurses were very caring and attentive. My only concern was over a four day admission I was moved rooms three times and that causes a little upheaval in where you are and how lovely people can find you. Also my tip here is if you want a private room ask for one and they will usually find one for you. In my case they found two over two days haha. Great service and definitely worth having my private health cover for.

On Monday I had a day surgical procedure at Epworth Richmond. I hadn’t had an operation in 15 years and never outside of the states and was a bit apprehensive. I shouldn’t have worried. My experience at Epworth was seamless, from the fast and efficient intake at pre-op, to the amazing, friendly, and super-attentive post-op nurses. The anaesthetist was wonderful, making jokes with me about the US and giving me the tiniest needle possible in order to assuage my fear of sharpies. Procedure started promptly at nine as promised and I was out the door by 1:30. The next day I was called by a member of the nursing staff to check up on my recovery. Not cheap with medicare, but if you have private insurance, this is the place to come for a professional, high quality surgical procedure.
