Be ready to push yourself. A beginners class here does not mean -«I have never danced before in my life and want a casual and fun class to start dancing in». In the Melbourne dance scene, Dance Factory is well know for training some of the best dancers around. Along with professional courses, they do offer pay-​as-​you-​go classes in all styles of dance, ranging from the aforementioned beginners class to advanced or professional level.
The teachers here are all working professionals, and whilst they seem to change teachers fairly frequently over the years, this is generally due to the teachers obtaining professional dancing contracts through out the world. The hip hop classes are great — I recommend going to a few and finding your favourite style.
I remember my first class — I stood at the back, thinking «wait! stop! go back! I cant learn that fast!» but if you keep going, you’ll catch on to the fast pace. Most classes were filled with people in their late teen to early twenties, but all are welcome — just try to keep up!
