That Krifi is the nicest spot in the Vic Gardens shopping centre for a bite isn’t really saying a lot. It’s great there’s a place under the cinemas for a pre or post-movie drink, but I could take or leave the food really. We’ve tried a few dishes there over a few visits and nothing had blown us away. It’s all just fairly standard stuff. The pizza will fill a hole in your belly and the toppings were nice but the dough is pretty average and threatens to ruin it completely. Salmon was fine, just not up to the level we’re used to for that dish. We’ve had an interesting salad from the specials board a while ago that I recall really liking, but you don’t really want to hang your culinary hat on a salad I wouldn’t think. Will be back for drinks and hot chips kind of snacks next time I think.

The food was nice, but lots felt not completely traditional, maybe some ingredients are not fresh? Fast service though, mostly what you’d expect from a restaurant in a food court.

We came here on a Monday night and it only had a few people in there. We both ordered the spiced lamb burger each. Nice presentation, came on a long plate with the burger on one side, a small wire basket(that looked like a deep frying basket you see at fish and chip shops) in the middle and ketchup on the side. Nice burger, tasty but went a bit soggy towards the end with the caramelised onions on the bread. Thought the menu was a bit spendy considering it’s located in the food court and lacks a atmosphere. Good for a meal before a movie if you don’t want fast food. We had an entertainment book coupon for 25% off which made it a bit easier to pay at the end.

I like this place for it’s consistency… and I mean it: Yes consitency. So if you had a bad dish don’t haev it again in case it improves and if you enjoyed somethong — yay, have it again. My favourite — morning specials with a free coffee thrown it. But my all time favourite — fiery eggs! It’s scrambled eggs with a zing(chillies)…yummm yummm!

Great spot when you want something above and beyond the usual food court fodder and bustle. Fast friendly service with a good menu and full bar. I love the daily salad specials served with warm chicken tenderloins washed down with good glass of white wine.

Located in Victoria Gardens Shopping Centre, Café Krifi offers casual but tasty menu with a wide selection of pizzas, my favourites are the Birdie Num Num pizza with tandoori flavourings. There are other menu options but the pizzas are always a good bet. Be sure to get one of their mocktails – reasonable and delicious. It has a nice enclosed courtyard to enjoy the weather, on the weekends it’s smoke free. Service was helpful but not over attentive leaving you to enjoy your company and conversations. Vegetarian and Vegan options are limited. After dinner you can take a nice walk by the Yarra or pick up something from the shops.

Krifi, such a sweet spot for after work drinks especially on a Friday. It is a good sized café with a covered courtyard where smoking is permitted besides the indoor section. Service is always good, even when they are busy, the wait staff circle their areas and look after their customers well so you’ll never not have to get up really. Food wise, I recommend their pizzas, some of them with imaginative names. Standouts is the Birdie Num Num, always a winner. They recently began a delivery service for their pizzas but it’s local only. Their range of desserts look amazing, and the flour less chocolate cake is Devine. They have happy hour, enquire on the day what’s on offer. In the mornings, there’s a daily riddle and if you solve it you get a prize. As a quality café serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, once you become a regular, you start noticing other regulars too. And the staff remember you well. You wouldn’t think to get that at a shopping centre.

Located inside the Victoria Gardens shopping centre, Café Krifi tries to have a bet each way, to be both a quick, casual place you can stop while you shop, and to be an option for a meal way from home, perhaps before a movie. The menu has a good range, from pizza to salads to burgers and sandwiches. And, for the most part, they do what they advertise — solid, good, renditions of dishes you know well. There’s not a lot that’s adventurous, but that’s okay. Service is fine, ambience is okay … you’re getting the idea, right? Krifi is exactly what you’d expect — reliable food without blowing your mind, in an environment that won’t either tickle you pink or have you cussing with annoyance.
