My second time back for the ‘feed me’ $ 50 banquet on a Friday night. Unfortunately we couldn’t get a table until 8:30pm(they don’t take reservations until after 8pm). Yet some more great and spicy food this time around. For the banquet we got a great selection of betel leaf with crab, squid, chicken wings, pork belly, a salad, greens and then the finale of beef shin curry was quite disappointing as the meat was really tough. Great service, and I always enjoy the cocktails!

Botherambo is heavily influenced by northern Thai food but also have some influences from Vietnam cuisines. I have been wanting to visit Botherambo since I met Kam McManamey at a cook off, he previously worked as Head Chef at Botherambo

Really tasty and fresh Thai food with a twist. Two of us went there for lunch, the service was good with friendly and attentive waiters. I started with the betel leaf and coconut chicken — it was a really tasty morsel, but felt it was a little on the expensive side for only a single piece. The Larb Kai salad was great, with lots of fresh herbs and full of flavour. We shared the Pork Ribs which were fantastic — highly recommended! The restaurant also has an Express lunch menu, and there seemed to be a steady stream of people dropping by to pick up takeaway for a quick lunch. Overall, a good dining experience and will definitely be back.

Really great restaurant, beautiful south east asian cooking. Good price point for the quality and quantity you get. I’d recommend the specialty beef cheek, the pork belly and the trout salad.

Bother-what? Rambo? Yes, strange name, but it gives you a clue to the location as it’s on the corner of Swan and Botherambo Street — just up from The Corner Hotel. Asian-fusion small plates dining and bar, Botherambo is a great after-work knock off spot. The vibe is designed to come with friends to share some food and have a couple of drinks. So it’s location on the oddly-named street is perfect, because it’s not too far from The Corner Hotel and entertainment precinct for before/after a concert or sporting game. They don’t take bookings however, unless your group is 8 – 12 pax. Designed for walk-in spontaneity, but the drinks list should keep you happy if you’re waiting at the bar. If you’re looking for something slower paced, I came here for a Monday working lunch and it was whisper quiet. Our table shared lot of tasty morsels — from trout salad and chicken ribs to pork belly and fried tofu bites. The chicken ribs were my favourite and a good sharable portion. Some of the others were a little small or lacked the bang for buck. Worth checking out if you’re looking for something a bit different to the pub scene on Swan Street.
