Australian Cleanskin

One of my favourite ways to spend an evening is gorging myself on Vietnamese food in Richmond, and one of the best ways to make sure that you have a cheap night out is to pop into the Australian Cleanskin store on Swan Street and grab a bottle of wine to BYO.
Selling an incredible range of wines from a multitude of regions, Australian Cleanskin is particularly good if you know a little about wine — say, that the Barossa Valley’s Shiraz’s are exemplary or that you can’t go wrong with a Cabernet Merlot from Margaret River — and the prices are extremely good.
I usually opt for a bottle at around the $ 10 mark as I’ve heard frightening things about Australian Cleanskin’s $ 3 and $ 4 bottles, and although quality is hit and miss you can definitely find a few diamonds in the rough if armed with a little wine know-​how and the desire to try something new.
