I love this place. The staff are really nice. I like the coffee and juices. The acai bowl is my favourite. Beautiful to look at and to consume — satisfying in every way. I find it hard to go past. Other meals look really good. The venue is quite noisy so wouldn’t be great for a catch up with friends. We go in to eat and get out! :) If you go on Saturday, it is at the end of the street that holds the Richmond vegetable market so parking and traffic can be little challenging before noon. Totally worth a visit.

A thousand blessings was a delight. The food was delish and the service was friendly. The only difficulty was deciding on what I was going to have.

It’s just one of those essentials things that follow any: «When in Melbourne…» or «Things to do in Melbourne…» or «Must try in Melbourne…» ~ a Latè! A Thousand Blessings delivers! Great spot, right in front of the park, sit and sip while being showered by autumn leaves. Don’t skip on any of the coffee accoutrements — everything is gourmet(my guilty pleasure is the caramel slice!) A tad expensive — but its definitely worth 1 … or 2 trips a week! :)

I’m conflicted about this place. I’ve had a brilliant breakfast and a so-so lunch. Hubs loooooooves this place and would happily make it «his» café. He’s now secured the dukedom, so he’s well on his way. He also is pretty happy that they are part of the Aston Club. Coffee is a joy for me and they do a good one here. Also, they don’t roll their eyes at me when I ask for an extra-flat flat white. The menu is tempting for both breakfast & lunch and the cabinet choice are inviting. Hubs raves about their juices and house-made cold drinks, too. Service is friendly and attentive enough. But, there can be a bit of wait for table service coffee & coffee refills. Also, as others have mentioned, it is popular and busy. So, that must be kept in mind when wandering here. I have only ever been midweek around morning tea time, so I can’t imagine what it must be like on a busy weekend brunch hour. One other thing to keep in mind — it’s in a family friendly area, so mums & bubs are a-plenty here, which can mean delightfully annoying screeching small people. Of the 2 meals, I’ve had — the breakfast was better. Lunch was a bit all over the place — the side of chips came out about 10 minutes before the dish it was to go with. Pricing is probably at bit expensive — our lunch was $ 60 for 2 mains, 2 sides, 2 coffees & juice. Look at the end of the day, it’s worth checking out. And I’ll happily go back for breaky again. I just won’t be as keen to go all the time like the hubs will be.

This is a regular haunt of mine. I love that it’s off the beaten track. The staff are friendly, although I have found some of the baristas to be a little pretentious(hello!). This place has gone upmarket recently– mainly on décor. The coffee is pretty fine and of consistent quality. The food is wholesome enough with bio-d eggs to warm a ravenous girth. Would I come back? Already have, several times. S

As a Richmonite, i have hundreds of options for coffee and breakfast yet I always find myself returning here. This cool café tucked behind the bustling Bridge Rd has a fantastic menu from which each visit results in the decision between 7 – 8 of their popular dishes. The chili scrambled with shaved proscuitto is my favourite, followed closely by walnut & fig loaf, french toast with poached pear, corn fritters, pancakes with blueberries and poached pear and the cheesy toast with maple bacon to name a few. It is on the pricier side however well worth the venture over if you have never experienced its aura. A traditionally packed saturday morning may result in a small wait but the service is great and the staff work double time to get you a seat. Lastly a take away coffee or freshly squeezed juice and a selection of food from the display can remedy any hangover should need something on the go.

I decided to venture further afield and see what breakfast places in Richmond had to offer. A Thousand Blessings had some good reviews over the web so that seemed like the logical choice to check out. Their menu was fairly small, a little bit pricey and had mainly organic offerings with plenty of fruit smoothies up for grabs. I went for the corn fritters with avocado and tomato salsa on sourdough. It was tasty but also quite filling. At around $ 17, it’s pretty expensive too. The service was very friendly and the coffee was good. But for a limited menu and being more expensive than your average place it only gets 3 stars.

I’ve lived north of the river the entire time I’ve been in Melbourne. I think you have a tendency to get stuck in the north side and just stay here. Yes, we have great places to eat, drink, play, but sometimes, I want to explore the rest of Melbourne. I rarely go to Richmond so I thought I’d check out a brunch place within riding distance. A Thousand Blessings had some good reviews and it was along the Highett Street bike path so off I went. A Thousand Blessings is one those local establishments that families love to frequent. It’s across from the Richmond Reserve and there’s a Farmer’s Market nearby. With a bright red door and inside furnishings focused on different wooden pieces, it’s a pretty cool venue. The service was prompt — we sat down and they came out within 5 minutes with a menu and got us coffee within 10 minutes. Our food was also out quickly — I ordered scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, goat’s cheese, dill, and capers($ 19.50). The dishes are good portions, but also on the pricier side. The average price is probably $ 17. Overall, good service and food that is almost all organic and/or locally produced in a cool establishment. It’s nothing fancy, but in a good location.
