This is a ‘get it done’ café around the corner from me which is my go-to when I don’t wanna think about where to eat. I appreciate a lot about this place. Things you know you’re gonna get: — Good value for money; portions are excellent for the price — Consistently decent food; I haven’t had a bad meal here in the 30+ visits I’ve made — A relaxed atmosphere; In a land of hipster cafes trying awfully hard it’s really refreshing — Good service; the owner is super friendly and quick to respond, and doesn’t bug you throughout your meal. What you won’t get: — Wow factor; Nothing is overt here, not the decore nor the menu. — Attitude; From anyone, excellent, you can sit comfortably. In my mind this is what a café should be. I will continue to enjoy weekend breakfasts and the $ 9 coffee and bacon egg roll to takeaway when I’m on the run.

This café is really a nice café, full of retro charm, and walking into this café instantly seems to release all that city-stress that builds up in-between moments of bliss. This oasis provides a little of that bliss, reasonably priced, and typical café fare, but generous? whoa, lets not worry about portion control will we, because you need a big appetite to finish these meals, and I love that, because I’m a hungry-hungry hippo most of the time and this place serves amaze-balls food. No I’m not a hipster. I hope I’m not at least. ;-) I don’t dress like one, much. And does Appetite care? no it doesn’t, because the service here is charming, brisk, attentive and rounds off a pleasant Redfern morning, every time I dine here. Keep up the good work, Appetite!

The coffee here is great but the food not so much. The cooked breakfast is too greasy and oily, they also served me a rock hard stale brownie and her response to my complaint was she’d had one that morning? Not likely

Big appetite? No worries; this café has got you sorted: –Situated amongst some cool retro furniture shops, the café itself is a bit run down but has a very funky and chilled vibe-tattered wooden floor, painted brick walls, high ceiling, and long benches on one wall. –Standard but great value for money Modern Aus breakfast and lunches which are delivered quickly(try their massive burgers served with chips). — They use Campos beans which rival the original Campos Café in Newtown. –This is food and coffee made with love! –A refreshing change from the brand new but sterile décor of some of the more expensive restaurants. –Open Public Holidays!
