Angry Pirate

Arrrggh me hearties!
Bring yo self down to the angry pirate ship for some pizza and to be washed down with some pints!
Stopped in for a quick dinner and drinks. Noted that it was Wednesday and the special was either a pizza and pint for $ 20 or if you were feeling the brunt of a hard day then maybe the best option for you would be the pizza and bottle of wine for $ 30! Bargain!
Order and pay at the bar and you get a table number. They have tables directly opposite the bar or you could sit against the wall or they have a have stools and low tables towards the corner.
Ordered the Night Rambler (Porcini mushrooms, truffle oil, mozzarella, san marzano tomato) and the Hispaniola (Spicy chorizo with san marzano tomoato & mozzarella). Pizza crust was good, the spicy chorizo was more on the mild side.
Overall, good location, food and friendly bartenders.

Disappointing to say the least.
The bar is well themed, and comes across as easy going and sociable.
We ordered drinks for 3 people, one of us ordered an Godfather (Amaretto & Whiskey Sour) — maybe the staff and manager should familiarise themselves with this drink! You should be able to find it on Google…
We were told that the cocktail would be brought to the table, so after 10 minutes I cautiously approached the bar and saw there was a drink that looked similar. The bar staff acknowledged I was looking at the drink and proceeded to let me take it without asking anything.
I took the drink to my table, where the manager or owner, questioned what I ordered after brining a second cocktail to the table, to which I replied that I had already had some of the drink — now knowing that it wasn’t my drink after tasting it; his reply was to swear loudly using profuse language to which myself and my friends were disgusted. I explained to the manager just take one drink back, even the second drink was not even correct. He and his employee kept returning to the table to discuss this with us.
In the end, we went up to the bar, where the manager demanded that we pay for the two drinks, when originally only one drink was ordered. We left in disappointment and knowing that situation was escalating.
We will not be returning here, for the fact that a simple mistake and some miscommunication seems to much for the venue to understand.

Another great nautical themed bar in Redfern! Good vibe, atmosphere etc and the pizzas look pretty damn tasty

The friendliest staff you’ll ever meet, free spicy popcorn, amazing pizza and good drinks. What more could you want?
The Angry Pirate has become a favourite for a good night out.
