The Icon Bar has the most amazing outlook onto Raby Bay Harbour. Sure, there are other businesses along the promenade, but the Icon has the most impressive frontage, so you can see the water no matter whether you sit in the outdoor bar area, inside at the cocktail bar or in the restaurant. The atmosphe is classy and ambient, though the bar can get rowdy. There’s nothing better than pulling up a cube at one of the hefty wooden tables outside with a few sunset drinks. Prices are like any good bar, higher than the pub up the road, but much nicer surrounds. The food is excellent — after one of those sunset sessions, the bar finger food is welcome. I like the crumbed barra fingers with thick, handcut crunchy chips, but if you’re looking for something a bit fancier, mains range from $ 20 up to almost $ 40 for top steaks in the restaurant, served with the freshest of salads and sauces. The $ 20 lunch is good too, with tapas choices and complimentary wine.
