New from Calvin Klein: Confusion. Feeling befuddled? Not quite sure what is happening around you? You need Calvin Klein: Confusion. So this place is called Dinky Di Pies & Patisserie on the outside. But inside they sell Pie Face pies and sides. So… are you a Pie Face, Dinky Di? I’m not smart enough to tell and it isn’t immediately clear. Also the service. I’m vociferously pro-human and will practice patience and forgiveness whenever possible, but the two young women at the counter were over-whelmed, and the place was only half-full. What started out as a lazy 35mins before a meeting to get a coffee and a pastry turned into a run-down-the-street-sloshing-my-English-breakfast-tea-all-over-my-shoes to make it to the venue on time. Instant stress. Plus those were my favourite shoes. So yeah they do Pie Face pies, all your favourites are there, and coffee and tea and pastries and actually large and very good value sandwiches packed full of fillings, a huge two-hander was around $ 5.95 which is a bargain in anyone’s book, especially the steady stream of office workers and tradies that make up the bulk of their trade.

This is an adorable little patisserie in Pyrmont, it does well for itself considering it is competing with The Star complex which is just across the road. It has the most beautiful marble cakes and the slices and cakes come served per slice if you sit in or take away. I stopped by on my way to my nightshift job. I was so chuffed, as I had spent $ 11 on my dinner that night and fit in a ¼ chicken, tandoori rice salad, mini chocolate fudge slice and coffee. Now dont you think that’s good? Dinky Di helped out with the choc fudge and coffee, I only spent $ 5.40 and enjoyed their hospitality. The cake was quality too, they don’t cut corners here. what’s really cool about this place is there is a mini version of all the cakes and slices served by the slice so you can choose to control your portions, the secret to a balanced diet.
