Child First Paediatric Therapy is an interdisciplinary team of highly experienced Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Case Managers. Therapists at Child First Paediatric Therapy are dedicated to helping your child’s physical, cognitive and social development. We can visit your child at home, at school or in our consulting rooms located in Pymble.

History

Established in 2005.

Joan Steele — Mills and Kate Loxton founded Child First Paediatric Therapy in 2005.

Joan is a Physiotherapist and Kate is an Occupational Therapist. Together they have extensive experience working with children and babies. Joan graduated from Akademie Leffelaar (Hoge School) Amsterdam in 1984. She arrived in Sydney in 1990 taking a position with the Spastic Centre now known as the Cerebral Palsy Alliance. Kate graduated from Sydney University in 1984 and her first position working as an Occupational Therapist was also with the Spastic Centre.

Kate and Joan wanted to develop an interdisciplinary practice to assist parents to access the therapy services their children required. Child First Paediatric Therapy offers a co-​ordinated approach to paediatric therapy services and expanded to include Speech Pathology services in 2006.

With their extensive experience working with children with Cerebral Palsy and other neurological conditions, Kate and Joan lead the Child First Paediatric
