Great local café. Putney is spoilt for choice with cafes now(there’s four within a block of each other). I think Dolcini’s is still the king, but for how long? The coffee is consistently good, and their homemade muffins are really, really good; I can’t decide which is better out of Nutella or the mixed berry — obviously more research is needed! Their menu is good, but pretty standard, café fare. This place gets packed most days of their week, so come early if you want to be sure to get a seat — you’ll only have to compete with the tradies and cyclists, and they never stay long. If there’s any big international soccer matches on, they’ll often be showing on the TV early in the morning for the diehards.

Great café with fresh good quality food and incredible coffee. Each time I’ve been I’ve had great service and a good experience. I’m a fan!

The staff here are quite arrogant and my experience was made worse by having to explain that my piccolo latte was not a macchiato yet the server blatantly told me I was wrong. After 15yrs in the café I finally met the most ignorant and anti customer focused barista! When he rolled his eyes after having to remake my coffee he made the remark«that special guys coffee is ready» I held my cool and figured I would let the product do the talking… The coffee was too milky and extremely weak for a «double» and was told it’s the beans and not his fault. Stay away from this one unless you like being called stupid and not get what you pay for!

I love the idea of this café but always get out of there with mixed feelings. Maybe it’s a case of overpromising and underdelivering: it looks good, is always packed, the menu and food on display are seem really good but the experience falls short of the expectations. The staff is friendly and abundant but a bit young and with a propensity to be busy doing stuff like tidying the place without keeping and eye on the tables trying to get their attention. My wife’s soy latte was good, my skim late wasn’t bad but was too milky for my taste. My Italian eggs(3 scrambled eggs with cream cheese, bacon and aioli on pita bread) were good and generous — I’d be more than happy with only 2 eggs. On the other hand, the wife’s version with mushrooms instead of bacon and gluten free bread did not impress: it came with extra crunchiness from a bit of eggshell. Maybe that’s why they charged an extra $ 5 for hers… On the dessert front, the vanilla cannoli was disappointing and the meringue tart OK. The canollo itself was good and crunchy but the vanilla filling wasn’t anything to write Unilocal about. As for the tart, it wasn’t bad but, after the multitude of highs and lows, I couldn’t shake the feeling it is pretty hard to stuff that one up. In the end, it gets a 3. It wasn’t too bad, I live in the expectation one day it will deliver to it’s potential and, if I take location in consideration, I can’t complain too much. :)

Good coffee at a great price still $ 3. Lovely people who drive good service. Good selection of gluten free pastries. Child friendly and good gelato. Recommend the iced coffee.
