Don’t know what is going here but, it is all wrong. I mean don’t get me wrong if your looking for a smelly little place that charges to much then this is your slice of heaven. I have been I have seen and now my wallets empty the same as my belly. Two expensive stars!

Geeks unite! Who hears the name of this restaurant and thinks Dragon Ball Z? No one? How embarrassing. Yamcha was a side character who never really did anything special. He played the sidelines. But I can tell you one thing: Yum Cha Bar WON’T be playing the sidelines in my eating habits.(Awesome segue.) I asked the gentleman working to suggest a dish, and he suggested dumplings. I was with some friends so we tried to go for a varied palette. It turned into one of those great, long nights where we kept ordering more and more. I’m wary of giving this place five starts because I stuck so close to the dumplings and tried nothing else, but once I’ve returned I may just revisit this review and up the score. Often you go to a restaurant, you eat, and you leave. But it takes a truly great atmosphere to keep your hanging around and ordering again and again.

I’ve seen the North Park shopping center literally transform in front of my eyes. Well actually that might have been a dream, but this place has gone a huge transformation since I was a kid. Before it was just one lonely Foodland. Now it has an abundance of shops and restaurants to explore. One being Yum Cha Bar. The bar has a very open feel, one that you can walk in and order without encountering much guff. The staff were attentive and helpful. And I had Fantastic scallop dumplings that left me wondering what the hell a scallop really was and why they are not extinct from their deliciousness.

I just knew I would love this place when I saw it’s name! Yum Cha Bar rolls off the toungue almost as easily as the dumplings do down the throat! The shop litterally opened within the last month much to my delight. I head over to North Park often, and quite often am besieged by an aggressive attack of the munchies that I, in the past, have usually quelled with a hotdog, sushi roll or a half dozen oysters if I’m feeling saucy! But now dumpling delights have jumped to the top of the noshing list and my tum tum couldn’t be happier. If you are a dumpling fanatic like me, you may choose simply to stick to these options, however there is roast duck, pork and other spectacular morsels that are more than worthy of exploration! I haven’t tried everything yet, so let me know whet you like yeah?!
