Jackson Dodd’s was pretty good. We had the green eggs(which included brocollini asparagus, spinach, poached eggs, grainy toast, sunflower seeds and lemon — plus added avocado). It was really fresh tasting and a decent size serve for around $ 20. Also tried the jerk chicken roll. It was flavoursome but probably not as much as we were hoping for. Also the serving was quite small, a few chips on the side wouldn’t have gone astray! Coffee was quite good. Service was excellent. We would come back for breakfast.

5 stars from me! Managed to get a table on Mother’s Day even tho they were flat out and reserved. Great food, fast service and staff rocked with great attitudes even tho they were under the pump

This place rocks our world every time we go, the staff, the food and the atmosphere. From the poached eggs, house baked beans, baked eggs with chorizo or seasoned avocado this place never gets tired. The staff are attentive, friendly and always have time for you. It’s kid friendly, young and old friendly and even the tragically hip friendly. We are regulars and always will be, you always feel like you belong.

So nice to have a local café where the food and selection is good. Love going there for breakfast or lunch. The kids love going here to eat as well a mere mention of the place immediately brings a smile to their face. Just what the area needed

Love to sit in the window seat and watch the world go by whilst sipping on my fabulous coffee. Bircher Muesli here is one of the best I’ve had.

Really good breakfasts. I wish we’d found this place sooner! The staff when we visited were really friendly and well organised. Felt like they were paying attention to what was going on around them. Their iced coffee tastes like actual coffee. A lot of places can’t get that right.

Jackson Dodds proves that you just cannot judge a book(or café) by its cover. Situated at the terminus of the 112 tram, in the midst of a typical suburban shopping strip, with an unassuming exterior, Jackson Dodds is home to one of the best brunch dishes I’ve eaten all year — poached eggs rolled with dukkah served with silverbeet. This dish alone is worth the drive up to Preston. The coffee was good too. Admittedly, my last visit here was a few months ago, and I hear that recently there has been a change in management. I sincerely hope that haven’t messed with a winning formula(I’ve only been here mid-week, and each time the café has been full to the brim — I cannot imagine what the waits must be over the weekend). I must get back there soon — if only I lived closer!
