This place was a hole in the wall place not far from our hostel. It was great! very small but really good service and food. Dumplings were very good, some of the best I’ve ever had!

BIG fan of this place. Have been coming here for years. The service is terrible but the food is great and super cheap. I always order the same thing every time! Steamed noodles with chicken and half egg and chive dumplings and half beef dumplings fried. Yes that’s right egg and chive SO good my favourite dumplings on offer. They also do half half. So if you come by yourself or like variety just ask for them to do 2 flavours in one dish. It’s always a favourite on a Friday BYO grab a bottle of wine across the road and order a few dishes it’s never more than $ 20 a head. Cheap cheerful and delicious. You can’t go wrong. If you are looking for the traditional thin xiao long bow dumplings you won’t find it here but I’m a huge fan! Pan fried are the way to go!

The food was delicious. Ordered a Xiao Long Bao and some steamed dumplings! One downer side was that there isn’t enough seating spaces and that portions, I felt, were not enough! Xiao Long Bao: Awesome taste Dumplings: Delicious with some unique fillings

This places takes making the most of a small space to new heights. They manage to cram a lot of people into a space the size of a takeaway container. Footpath tables are configured like Tetris and the inside is a series of tightly packed built-in booths and tables. But you don’t come here for décor(or the service for that matter!). Forget everything else on the menu, you come here for dumplings! Take your pick – pork and cabbage dumplings, pork and chives dumplings, egg and chives dumplings, beef dumplings, lamb dumplings, chicken and corn dumplings, seafood dumplings, vegetarian dumplings – they are all good! But make sure you get the Xiao-Long Bao soup dumplings!

HARDEST. REVIEW. EVER. Pro: The dumplings are possibly worth maiming or killing a man for. Con: The customer service here leaves a lot to be desired. While I accept the general rule of thumb around expectations and levels of service in a Chinese restaurant, this place takes it to a whole new level. Con2: Wait times. The dumplings are possibly being manufactured in a bunker several kilometres below ground, with nought but a shady flight of stairs behind the cash counter to give it away. Con3: Cash only. Not a biggy, but when coupled with aforementioned grievances this really just turns the blade a little. Fried or steamed, their vegetarian dumplings are only just worth the investment of time in ordering from Dumpling & Noodle House, Potts Point.

Do these guys do Noodles? I’m not sure? they do do dumplings and boy are the dumplings good. Do you like Dumplings? I do! and these dumplings tick the boxes for me. Its one of those joints you’d walk right on by if someone didn’t point it out to you so heres the recommendation: — Grab a stool go for the steamed Porkies, administer copious ammounts of Soy Sauce and enjoy! It is a tight squeeze here and you may find it a problem getting in so don’t rock up with fifty homies expecting to get your crew in all at once. Its all about the Dumplings here. So take just a few key players and enjoy.

No frills, barely any seating, and dumplings aplenty. Dumpling & Noodle House is unabashedly unglamorous, offering the bare minimum of table service — imagine a waitress plonking stacks of food-filled, steaming baskets onto your tiny table, and nothing else until it’s bill time — with a fast table turnaround to accommodate for the hoards of hungry diners waiting to be seated. But who can complain when a bounty of handmade pockets of goodness(up to 12 steamed or fried parcels per serving) stuffed with finely chopped prawn and vegetables or a spiced lamb mince mixture can easily come in at about $ 15 per person? It’s also BYO — huzzah for $ 2 corkage! In summer, get there a half hour earlier than your usual restaurant arrival time with the aim to grab an outdoor table to soak up Victoria Street’s inner city ambience.
