The fish is lovely and it’s why we come, but sooooo frustrating a place this size doesn’t do card. Yep. It’s cash only here at Rex’s.

Very basic fish and chips for the big price tag. Way over rated maybe because it’s in a tourist area. Never going back there.

It’s been 2 years since the last time I had fish and chips, due to me being coeliac/gluten free, and I thoroughly LOVED these gluten free offerings. Had battered barramundi and crunchy chips fried in separate fryer, unlike some places that don’t understand cross contamination and therefore use the same oil as regular batter. Not at D’lish! Will def. come back!

I don’t know what it is about fish ‘n’ chips, but it’s one of those meals that always seems like a good idea, but then usually ends up failing once you’re eating it. There were plenty of options to choose from and all of them seemed really appetizing, however unfortunately for me, I was really disappointed with the fish, chips and prawn cutlets from this popular shop. On the other hand, the potato cakes were not too bad. The batter around the fish was really thick and greasy, which left me wondering where exactly the piece of fish was. The fish itself was really dry and tasteless and did not seem fresh at all. ¼ of the chips were limp and soggy and the remaining ¾ were not even chips at all, but mostly fried batter from previous orders. And the prawn cutlets, well i’m pretty sure they came straight out of a supermarket freezer. Fortunately I hear that D’Lish Fish is under new management, so I hope that this means that their fish ‘n’ chips have improved.
