QT have put their name to a rather boring, old and run down hotel. The rooms are water damaged and that was after being moved to another one.
It has a great foyer which gives you the impression that is in fact up to the standards my partner and I were expecting. But it is not.
The buffet dinner is fantastic though at Bazaar. The chefs there are so friendly in the morning and at night. Other areas of service are slow and menus belong in the 90’s.
We have witnessed some horrific attitudes from staff and then on the other hand seen some really friendly faces who have spent time to remember our names
Save your money and go somewhere else.

Nice hotel that is trendy and geared toward the younger consumer. It is definitely family friendly which the number of kids staying here will attest to.
The grounds are lovely will tropical pools, and flora and fauna all around. The pool is the center point with the rooms surrounding it or the gardens.
While the basic room is pretty small, it does include a balcony or porch for a little more room. Best option would be the pool room villa which consists of a bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchenette. This style of room has a balcony off of the living and bedroom areas and comes with a washer/​dryer as well.
The rooms are well stocked and in the larger rooms there is plenty of closet space.
A couple of downsides are that there is no in room safe and the bed was a little soft for my liking. I also felt like the pool towel policy was a bit over done. I get that people may steal the towels but a good resort should supply towels at the pool, not make you constantly drag them back and forth to your room between uses. Also — know, that it is a bit far to walk into town so you will need to use the shuttle bus service ($ 5 each way) to get into Port Douglas and back.
The pool has a swim up bar that was open on the weekend during my stay. And there are a couple of restaurants as well as a spa, on site, which is very convenient .
And the staff here is super friendly, willing to go that extra mile to get you what you need on a timely basis.
All in all, this was a relaxing, place to stay while in Port Douglas. And isn’t that just what a good vacation hotel is supposed to offer?

If you’re looking for something suited for young and trendy Port Douglas visitors, you’ve found your mecca. Stop reading reviews and book immediately. As soon as we pulled up, I knew we had made the right choice. The open air lobby spilling out into a perfectly designed bar, the gift shop where I wanted to buy one of everything, and the pool complete with swim-​up bar ticked all my young, fresh, design-​obsessed boxes.
While design was paramount throughout, there were a few issues with our 2-​bed suite that could have been a bit nicer — notably the showers and living room AC. But overall, but the substance matched the style at nearly every turn.
The bar food was a highlight — we went out in Port Douglas our first night, but ended up eating at the hotel bar the next nights because the food was amazing, (french fry-​platter is a must-​order) the pitchers of booze were incredible and the prices were much lower than anything in town.

Its not often when I’m travelling that the travelling itself has been based purely around a hotel I want to check out, but this was one of those times. The QT Port Douglas seems to have been open for around or less than a year. We flew up toe port to spend three nights at the resort, and we loved it!
Who ever was behind the concept and design of the refit needs a high five, it is so cool and cleverly pitched at maybe a 20 – 35 market. The design is just great, it is not a brand new resort, rather a refurbed one, but it has been done really well. There are lots and lots of cute details from the pop colours used in the room to the retro items in the mini bar (pick up sticks, pineapple lollies).
The staff seem excited to be working here, their uniforms are cute, and they are cute, and sometimes flirty, this never hurts when you are on holiday. The pool and swim up pool bar are fab, I mean no-​one wants to be required to leave the water in order to find alcohol.

They have a pretty unbeatable deal on until the end of the year promoting the new hotel, which is what sold it for us. We got some fun souvenirs in the ‘qtique’ store on our way out, which also sells fizzers and wiz fizz (sigh, so fun!).
We were a bit bored by port douglas itself (don’t hit me!) but the resort made up for it. Looking forward to trying their GC and brand new Sydney properties.
