My vote of 4 is not just for food, but rather the whole package that Sasellas is. Working in the city I frequent this place A LOT. It is an unusual position at the top of the carillion food court, but the place always gets busy at lunch, with one of their major advantages being they guarantee to have your food out in 10minutes. Perfect for a 30 minute lunch break. You would think with a guarantee like that the food choices would be very limited, but they have a great range and there is something for everyone. There is indoor seating and they also have an outdoor area which overlooks the Murray street mall and is lovely on a sunny day. I’ve tried the parmi, pasta, burger(better than I could have anticipated!), fish, pies(I told you I’d been a bit!) and have always left with a smile on my face. Serving sizes are good and the service is top notch. I’d go as far as saying that for a standard pub lunch the Perth side of the trainline, you would struggle to find better, with a number of pubs in the cbd serving up subpar meals these days. Thankfully we have Sassellas to buck this trend. The drinks menu is also solid for those that like a tipple. If you want solid pub food which will leave you satisfied without setting the world on fire(its a pub, its not what they are here to do) and you want it quick, Sasellas will not disappoint. I would recommend making a booking if going in a group that is larger than a few people, just to guarantee yourself a table!

Well firstly, despite some of the reviews I have read on Sassellas, I have no complaints, and thoughly enjoyed my meal, sure it’s not overlly extravagent options and offers your bassic meals, It was very enjoyable and appetizing all around and I say try it for yourself! All meals ready in 10 minutes? Now I call that fast service, and for the tasty, well put togther that Sassellas produced, I definitely recommend stopping in and giving this perfectly sistuated Bar and Bistro and try. Sassellas is sistued on the top level of Carillon Arcade and is a mere 2 minute walk from the Perth Train Station which makes it a very convient and easy spot to locate! Being in such a location, they also offer lovely out door dinning, giving you a great view as you watch the happenings of perth bellow you. I was impressed by the lovely decore and modern like interior, which I felt gave it a very nice classy feel, yet produced a relaxed and pleasntly cassual atmosphere and feel! I didn’t have a reservation, but due to my early arrival time my waitor was very generous and yes, even though It was reservered, sat me at a table he knew would give me plenty of time to sit and enjoy my meal! Infact looking around I got a feeling things would pick up very shortly as I spotted quite a few reserved tables! A good sign indeed. They waiter was very helpful and asked if I had been here before, as I had not he explaied how the ordering worked, which has you go up and order from a stanard menu offering your standard Fish and Chips, Satay Sticks, Burgers, Pasta’s, Salads, Parmigiana, Cumberland Sausages and Mash and Other great options with a Chefs recommomendations on display! You then order and get your number then in 10 minutes check the warmer counter for your meal, and viola!
I order the Satay Skewers and the meal was cooked wonderfully\. The meat tender on the skewrers with great flavours in the sauce very aromatic and you could really taste the peanut satay with its beautiful fresh salad, well cooked rice and presentation it was thoroughly enjoyed! I will definitely not hesitate to point someone towards Sassellas for a pleasnt and quick lunch with classy and roomy interior, friendly service and convince with reasonable prices! Then, if you enjoyed like myself, become a V.I.P! I couldn’t refuse, and being a place I know look forward to going to when I have the chance I love the rewards.

This place is hidden in the upstairs of The Carillon in Perth, I would never have seen it unless I searched. Although the food was okay, the staff were quite confused and that led me to now enjoy my food as much. Pricing was okay, for what the meals were worth I wouldnt have paid anything more that what we had. I give this place a 3.

3.5 stars. This place is a nice happy medium. I come here quite often when I’m out on my shopping expeditions for a quick, easy lunch. I like that I can people watch from their balcony, enjoy the sun and order a pretty decent cocktail. A full bar always make me a happy camper. The wait staff is always very accommodating, the atmosphere is always welcoming and the kitchen has yet to mess up my picky order. The chicken burger is my go to meal and the portions are generous. All in all, good food, good booze and a good place. Always worth coming back.

Hm, wasn’t really a fan of this place at all really, I mean they have a couple of good qualities but not enough to get any more than two stars. The view is alright a good people watching spot, which for me is always a good thing. The food is poor, hardly any vegetarian food and the meat dishes look like frozen meals. It isn’t particularly cheap, which it really should be. Nothing special about this place at all and Perth has a lot more than this to offer.

Sassellas is… pretty average. Average food, average prices — but then that’s typical of most bars and pubs, isn’t it? For meat lovers, there’s plenty to eat, Sassellas rocking pub tradition with plenty of steak on the menu — though you’ll probably experience better elsewhere. What sets Sassellas apart is the view. If you’re a city lover and a people watcher, then Sassellas is definitely a place to visit. Situated upstairs in Carillon City, you can sit on the balcony and watch the people in Murray Street Mall below. Not the worst way to spend an evening, really…

From Forest Place, Sassellas’ sign appears on the side of Carillon City like a beacon. «Beer. Wine. Food.» Getting a drink in shopping centre food courts is hardly a difficult task nowadays, of course, what with every pseudo-gourmet burger joint and Chinese food place stocking beer and wine alongside the soft drinks and juices. But it’s still not the easiest thing in the world to come across a proper tavern amidst the sushi rolls and Hungry Jacks wrappers and bored-looking teenagers who sell them to you. Sassellas is such a tavern. For one thing, it doesn’t jump out you. While its exterior signage may promise a cure for what ails you, its inside signage tends towards the subtle. It could almost be described, as most taverns worthy of the name can be, as a hole in the wall. For another, more important thing, it also has a proper bar: a good, solid, reliable thing you can sit at, write at, think at, and drink at. In addition to an impressive range of local and international beers on tap, it also sports over thirty-five wines by the glass, more than most self-proclaimed wine bars. The food is your typical pub fair – I had a good, entirely unremarkable steak sandwich the last time I was there – but what were you expecting?(Given how many people are eating, it would seem they were expecting exactly that.) Grab a bottle of white, head out to the balcony, sit back in the sun, and watch the shoppers below. You’ll occasionally see someone, thirst written all over them, making a bee-line for the beacon and its promise.
