TLDR: Recomend. Come here if you want a sliver of authenticn Japanese noodles(ramen or udon). Busy, crowded, bring a date only if they are a foodie! Guideline: wandering the streets of Tokyo. Nao never disappoints… Except when they’re closed :(but there’s nao(sic) extended trading(yay). I always go for«authenticity» and here it is!

My usual go to place when I need hot soup to de– stress. The place is small but the Ramen taste big. One of those Japanese Ramen place with real Japanese speaking crew.

Both times I have been here I had to wait to be seated since this place is very popular. I don’t mind since the ramen at this place is great. Ordered the miso ramen with extra pork slices. I absolutely love the broth which is light and spicy. You can see pieces of chilli in the broth. the noodles were firm and smoked the broth up as you expect. The portion size were large and you do not really have to order anything else. Overall, it was one of the best ramen I have ever had. Well worth the wait!

Awesome food! Tasty! Large serving and reasonably priced! Always busy but fast for food to come out, everything cooked fresh noodles made on site. I lived in Japan for 6 months and this is pretty close to as good as it gets in Australia so far at least for me!

Friday lunchtimes are very busy — you have to get a number and wait. My colleagues and I had to only wait 15 minutes before we were granted a table — pretty quick for the queue that we saw. I had been looking forward to this lunch all week having heard that Nao has the best ramen in Perth. I had also been craving spicy food and so I went with the spicy ramen with spinach noodles(wanted to try something different) and didn’t get any additional toppings — just the piece of pork(can’t remember what it’s called). My colleagues got the miso ramen with no toppings, the psuke ramen with additional chicken(the ramen comes separately and you get a small bowl of accompanying broth), the garlic ramen in miso soup. Food arrived very quickly in large bowls filled to the top with soup and a generous portion of noodles. All of us thought that the food tasted average. I was very disappointed with mine as the spicy ramen was not spicy at all. It had an orange colour to it. The ramen also lacked flavour(agreed upon with my colleagues as well) — like it didn’t have the fermented taste in the miso soup base or the saltiness of the miso. My ramen soup didn’t have any flavour. The spinach noodles don’t even have a spinach taste to it. Was very very disappointed. Service however is great and quick and you can even take away your ramen if you don’t finish it.

This place knows how to make you happy! I don’t care how long I have to wait to be seated, as long as that damn noodle is there to spoil my tummy. I don’t know what kind of magic they use to get the broth as thick and as delicious to lick clean. I enjoy spicy food, so I never miss the spicy ramen in red chilli noodle. The regular size is more than enough, unless ramen drives you crazy you just want more. I tried their big size one time and I ended up bringing half home. You feel like you’re down a busy street, you find a packed ramen house and you embrace the beauty of Tokyo. Only here you get crazy people maybe asking for a dollar or just yell at each other on a bench outside the barbershop. Their ramen is still the best, though. Be patient, don’t rush yourself. Even if the lady says you might have to wait for 20 – 30 minutes, just stay. They’re like Maybelline, because they’re worth it.

Good place for ramen. I like the fact that you can choose your base and customize your dish to your liking. Careful this place attracts a crowd and gets packed all the time it seems so don’t go there when you are the point of starvation because you might be waiting a little while: P

Pretty good. Always packed with a huge line and it’s ramen. It’s good, but I wouldn’t wait 30+ mins for ramen, would you? A lot of homeless around the area so street seating is off putting

Great atmosphere, lovely service and great food. From the outside this place is a little off putting because its neighbours aren’t aesthetically pleasing. But inside it feels like you are eating at a bar in Japan. I was comfortable, the staff were friendly & the food serving size was more than adequate. I just ordered what I want(you design your ramen like a subway order) & I was eating in less than 5 minutes. Only negative is the lack of poached eggs on the menu — which I thought would piss me off more — I was ok without due to the serving size. Great food here. You should go.

There really isn’t much to say about this place. I don’t even like ramen, but I love this place! That’s how good their ramen tastes! They have converted a non-believer, an anti-ramen activists into someone that now has cravings for Nao ramen several times each week!

I love this place. The ramen is delicious, substantial and cheap! The pork is not super tender but its better than most. Highly recommended. It fills fast at lunchtime.

I love ramen, but I’m not sure I love this place. Although the ramen I had was nice, it just didn’t suit my taste. I prefer a thick, rich and over the top tonkotsu broth whereas this broth(shio) was a little on the 1-dimensional side for my liking. Still, it was an enjoyable ramen and if you’re desperate for a noodle fix, it’ll do the job.

The ramen is delicious. While walking along Murray, there was one conspicuous sight — a little restaurant with a massive crowd. That has to be a good sign, and it was. The ramen is perfectly cooked, very authentic flavor, and fairly quick service. The only downside are the crowds /lines and the odd hours. They close early most days and they’re not open on Saturday.

Look no further for ramen! This place is the best ramen in town. The noodles are fresh with 3 choices(yellow, green, red — how cool!), the broth is done in different ways(Shoyu and Shio is good) and then add the meat/extras as you like, PAYG. The place gets really packed at lunch. The serving size of the ramen is really good. I did not think too much of the teriyaki chicken — give that a miss. Taka, does a better teriyaki. I only go to Nao for the ramen.

After hearing many good reviews about ramen at Nao, I finally went to Nao for lunch this afternoon to get my ramen fix. I was there after the peak lunch hour(I hear that it is always busy for lunch!) and managed to score myself a seat without queuing at all! Looking through the menu, there was a variety of ramen to choose from — I was tempted to go for the cold ramen as it was a hot day but instead, I went for the Shoyu Ramen. The broth was so delicious and flavoursome that I nearly finish drinking it. The ramen noodles were cooked to perfection — it was not too chewy and had a lovely texture to it. My verdict? I loved it! One of the best ramen place in Perth. Oh and guess what? I am already looking forward to my next visit!

{Co.Ni.Chi.Wa}{Não}!! What a great place to eat. We showed up here around 7:30pm and there still was a line outside for tables. We were only with 2 and were seated immediately at the bar. The stars of the show were clearly the noodles, the broth of which was so delicious. The octopus balls were also really good and very flavorful. In contrast, the dumplings were surprisingly bland. Our dessert(green tea ice cream), whilst pretty, was also average. But there are many more pros than cons at this place. The service was good and the prices were beyond reasonable(2 starter dishes, 1 large noodles with extra meat, dessert for $ 35 total). We will be back for sure.

Open mainly for lunch and for«early» dinner. These guys specialise in Ramen and they do it well. I get a little overwhelmed with the«choose your toppings» system — I’d rather they just made it how they like it. Maybe it’s because I just generally hate making decisions… Last time I visited I went for a take-away spicy miso ramen — YUM! They give you the noodles and toppings in a separate container(Tsukemen style) so they don’t get soggy in the soup on the way home. brilliant. I’m slowly working my way through the menu with each trip to Perth. I’ve tried their udon which is pretty great. Next time i’m keen to have a go at their cold ramen.

What a find! I almost didn’t want to tell everyone in case it gets too busy! But I must! I am actually not a fan of miso soup but this placed proved everyone else it doing it wrong! You get to choose your style of soup, extras and meat. It was so good I have not shut up about it since, and it didn’t break the Europe budget! A win win in my book!
