There isn’t a lot you can say about kebab shops, really. They’re all pretty much the same, aren’t they? A kebab is a kebab is a kebab, and the kebabs from Ispa Kebabs, believe it or not, are kebabs. This one, however, has location to its advantage, being right in the centre of the city and opposite the train station. This is what led me and my friend to stop here to get a snack for our train journey home after a recent night out — we shared a pida filled with kebab meat, which was pretty damn tasty, and served as a ‘starter’ to the pizza we subsequently got from the shop near my house. Shameful, I know, but it seemed like a great idea after a few drinks. And it certainly was the perfect starter to our greasy feast.

Kebabs to me just remind me of drunken nights out stumbling home. This kebab shop in particular, it is right next to the Perth City train station so perfect for on the way home. It seems to me, maybe even if it isn’t, a slightly healthier McDonalds. It is also not as busy, and even closer to the station than McDonalds. They have quite a wide range of kebabs and music playing loudly, making waiting for the food all the more enjoyable. When I went last time I had a chip kebab, I didn’t even realize it was possible, but it is and it was amazing. When I’ve had a few drinks food tastes pretty good, but this was out of this world! It looks pretty dingy and in the daytime, I probably wouldn’t even go near it. But when its 2am, I’ve had one too many drinks and I am hungry, the dingy lights look like a New York skyline and the kebab tastes like a dish from a 5 star restaurant. If out at night in Perth, this place is where to go, convenient and tasty! Perfect!
