New menu is surprisingly good but beer still tasted a bit watery, specially compared to other Irish pubs in town. Friday nights are great, band is fantastic.

I had read some of the reviews and they almost put me off from even trying this place. But it is right next door to the hotel I’m staying at & it was raining, so i gave it a try. The steak was cooked to medium rare as ordered, but the cut was tough and at $ 36 for a pub steak I expected a good piece of meat. They did forget to bring out the steamed broccoli that was supposed to accompany it & later brought out some steamed mixed veg instead. My first cut into the steak revealed a plastic wrapping shriveled up on one side. The waitress was very apologetic and offered me a free drink to compensate. Quite honestly I’d rather have had a better cut of meat without plastic and the veg as listed on the menu. The only really bad element was the pepper sauce, if it didn’t say pepper sauce on the bill I’d have assumed it was just plain gravy. But than again, maybe it was! !!

Fish & chips were good, BUT service was super slow & we totally felt ignored! Bummer.

Good typical irish pub. Went here for a couple of drinks with friends one evening. It has everything you expect from a pub. Good atmosphere, good drinks selection, we didnt have the food but the food looked good and there was rather sizable portions. My friends were very happy with live sport on the big screen, not my thing, but I was in a pub, so i was excepting it is part and parcel of the venue.

Fens is one of our local Friday night drinking places to come to after a hard week spent at the office. Drinks are a little more expensive than the pub up the road depending what you drink, but you are always served with a smile by the very friendly staff. Some nights there are live bands, or you can watch sports on the TV. Menu is limited with mostly pub foods but I had the Caesar Salad which was absolutely delicious, however it was a bit expensive for a Caesar Salad. The atmosphere is Irish Pub style with lots of booths which seats up to 6 people or there is an outdoor smoking area with lots of tables to sit at on an cool summers night…

This pub is local for me so its hard not to stop in for a quick drink. I’ve never ordered food here so skip to the next review about the food. Atmosphere is pretty low-key. They have a live band on Fridays and Saturdays. being attached to the Novotel and across the street from the Pan Pacific, you’ll meet a lot of out of towers visiting Perth so the clientele is overall pretty friendly. The venue is pretty large and they have a large outdoor patio as well which is great for people watching. The staff is friendly and accommodating. As far as drink prices, they never seem to have any specials so you’ll end up paying the $ 10 a pint, but the convenience factor keeps me from complaining too much. All in all an ok place.

So when a friend from out of town says they’ve found an Irish pub«in town» odds are they’re really at Fenians. This pub is conveniently located across from the Novotel and does quite well for itself with it’s clientele. I can honestly say I have only been here once, due to my habit of generally functioning in and around the CBD. Fenians isn’t too far out and it is on the way to the harbour(depending on which way you’re going.) The booths are cosy and it isn’t full of as much crap as most«Irish pubs» which is a relief. The outdoors seating area is always buzzing and the food is great value. The staff were super friendly and happy to serve me the«cop out» waters as I recovered from a longer than expected walk to find the place. Had some drinks, enjoyed the atmosphere and have resolved to make more time for pubs on the side!

Fenians isn’t a bad spot(as much as the name in Ireland means much more than is intended). It is quite central without suffering the constant barrage of drunken idiots that pubs in Northbridge and Murray Street have to deal with. It is a handy spot if you have spent the day or the evening at the WACA and will save your feet from having to walk further. They have a very good pub grub menu including the obligatory beef and guinness pie and jacket potatoes. The servings are very generous and prices are quite reasonable. Fenians regularly has live music ranging from traditional Irish music to rock cover bands.
