Had a really lovely evening, perched on a pleasant balcony, met some wonderful people, finally got to speak to Laura her highness, enjoyed a few glasses of wine, delightful little in-house treats, and got to know of the splendid little café that is Moana Coffee. Will definitely be back with friends. Thanks Laura! xx

I think traditionally when I review, I tend to focus on one thing being the highlight… like«Did anyone try that hummus… no seriously, did you?!» But, the problem here is I can’t give props to just one thing… because like«Did you try those lamingtons… I mean what is the secret ingredient love or crack or both?!» I can spend all night professing my love for all things Unilocal,Laura D. and well Moana Coffee. I love that Laura seeks out all these nooks and crannies and gives me the 411 on places that excel in plenty o’ areas… like«What was that? Tampenede? Did I even spell that right? I swear I’ve never even spoken that word… but, you know what… it was freakin’ delish even with celery!» Laura(and intern Abby) had such a great hook-up that they even brought in nice, cool weather specially flown in just for us. And, without skeeters! How on earth does she do it folks? I have no idea. The balcony/porch area definitely was the it-spot! An establishment like Moana Coffee, one that runs smoothly with delicious treats — in a heritage building no less, I shocked by the young owners and impressed with their dedication to the space. But, their energy is vibrant and fun, yet professional. Keep up the great work! I’ll be seeing y’all real soon!

My first ‘proper’ elite event! Awesome! What a great venue — I commented to my +1 that we have to go there again asap to people-watch from the balcony. Sometimes it feels like the CBD has lost a bit of its heritage with the building boom, and finding asomewhere that has kept its old word charm made it particually special to me. I missed the lamingtons(damn!) — does anyone know if that is a regular item on their menu? It was lovely to get to meet fellow Unilocalers and share hot tips about the best places to eat/drink/visit in Perth, and a big thank you to Laura for the invite — see you all at the next one!

My first elite event and it was so much fun! Finally got to meet Laura and what a great job she did to organise it all. A lovely venue, nice yum nibbles… great bunch of people. learnt a few things about chocolate *Mags is going to have to make me a list of chocolate to try/chocolate places! It’s great to meet some Unilocalers and can’t wait until the next one.

YAY — made it to the first Unilocal Elite Event… and managed to not get kicked out …BONUS! Congrats to Laura and her trusty side-kick Abby for organising the event at yet another place I would not have found if I wasn’t on Unilocal !! Moana is a unique space and I predict will go from strength to strength as they refine and perfect their business — looking forward to taking the beloved back for a Chicken Quesadilla lunch and to actually try some of their(famous) coffee/hot choclates Great to meet the people behind the reviews that help make informed choices easier — can’t make it to the next one but definitely will to others… Thanks again for a top night — sorry we couldn’t stay longer Cheers Coxy PS Only three stars? …Only because I haven’t been to another Unilocal Event and I don’t wanna peak to early… as I have faith in Laura D pulling off a few more big Unilocal Elite Events in 2013 :-)

Totally loved it. I didn’t have a plus one buddy and hung back for a bit as it was my first Unilocal event and I don’t know of any friends hanging out in Unilocal.I didn’t think I would stay longer than 30mins. Then Laura came over and introduced me to a few people. I ended up staying for much longer and chatting with people. I got into a very intense conversation with chocolate so I think I’m going to have to start a chocolate list.

Another super awesome event put together by the hostess with the mosses, Laura D. Great place. The owners are super friendly. Went back of coffee the next day. Great to see some of the classic Unilocalers along with some new faces. Stay sexy my friends!

How did I miss the Lamingtons? I have learned a valuable lession, when someone asks ‘Chocolate Brownie or Lamington?’, in future I will say Lamington(the brownie was pretty hot though fyi). Regardless, this night can be described in one word(though it would make for a boring review), lovely. Everything was lovely: the company, the olives, the flickering lights, the home baked treats, the wine and the atmosphere, most of all the atmosphere. I would never have known this coffee shop existed and I would never have ventured into this beautiful heritage building. Yet again, Unilocal events help me discover new favourites from the venue to other Unilocalers recommendations. As I said… LOVELY.
