Ebony & Ivory

I’m speaking on behalf of the black sisters that are looking for a good quality hair service. I have been going to ebony and ivory on and off since 2007 the only good thing about ebony and ivory is the hot tool styling and the black opal makeup; other from that the owner gives dirty looks to ethnic/​black clients. The hair is ridiculous over priced and bad quality shedding central and the installation is old school and needs to be updated. I know all of this because I have worked with hair from around the world and have worked in salons and if you know anything about hair extensions. honestly if your black and you walk into her salon she will give you dirty looks which is so sad that a black woman has to behave like that against her own. i love beauty products and there is not many shops for us in Perth so it’s disappointing.

I have been coming to Ebony & Ivory since I was 16 years old. They have so much fun with their clients and generally love all their clients. They really pay attention and have gotten my hair right every single time. Joan and her staff are amazing.

If you know what good quality hair weaving and afro hair service is, Then DONT go to Ebony and ivory! The owner only cares about money and she does such bad old school weaves my hair broke off and i payed over $ 600 for the hair and within one week it looked like a matted broom stick!!! She said it was virgin indian but its obvoislu cheap chinese hair she bought for a few dollares and made an amazing profit!!!
She treats afro clients like shit, Mixed clients a little better and white clients like royalty
Bottom line, If you know what quality extensions and lace wigs should be;; Dont go here: Its a huge waste of money, Terrible uncomftorable rude service and she does bad work that breaks your edges!
I was living in Atlanta USA for 7 years and was assiting my cousin who owned a hair salon there so please take my review seriously because i am very educated on what weaving salons should be.
I felt ripped off, Ugly, Sad and demoralized by the owner because i was dark skinned.

I went in here to see if they took extensions out without realising that is kind of what they specialise in. Well not just taking them out but putting them in. They charged my next to nothing to take them out and because of that I decided to get a cut and colour as well.
The girl did such a good job and made me feel really comfortable. I have been back a couple of times since and every time I received great service and a great hair cut!

I am not a fan of getting my hair cut. I dislike the whole series of pretending like you are not actually in a hair salon, trying to drink the obligatory coffee while a stranger is washing your hair and making small talk and trying to read an old magazine while you’re looking at the ceiling. Ebony and Ivory however has been the only time I have ever got my hair cut that I haven’t felt awkward to my bones. I’m not sure if the stylist (Paris) knew how much of a difference her attitude made to the whole experience but I was truly grateful.

Ebony and Ivory hair salon is located on Barrack street in Perth’s main city and is fabulous for buying hair extensions. I have been buying hair extensions for the past 5 years and have found there selection of colours and lengths is exceptional, far better value then what most hair dressing salons will try to sell you. Over the years I have brought 2 pairs of clip in extensions which are temporary however I wear them pretty much every day; the quality and price is great, but recently I have turned to micro bead extensions, which are permanent seeing as I wear them so often. I always get complemented on how natural my hair looks, which would be because Ebony and Ivory help you to blend them in so well; by layering both your hair and the extensions and colouring them if required. I constantly direct my friends to their store whenever I am asked and they too have been very pleased with the results.
