Came here for a midweek meal after looking around for some good reviews — and it didn’t disappoint! I took a recommendation on the pot pie — yuuummy! And huge. Lots of meat with a nice touch of vegetables on the side. My partner got the buttermilk chicken, which was also delicious. We live close by so will be back!

Always an option in the city. Large and good portions, good beer, live music in the evening and TV! Footy always shown. And efficient service, what else is needed?

best priced drinks in the city more of a stop in pub for many but also a great place to catch up with people it is a bit dark but for people who like the sunshine and in winter the cold then there are plenty of seats outside. Best tip i can give for this place is if you go to the dirty nellys website and sign up for a VIP card which is free then they post it to you and gives you 10% off your drinks anytime

Laid back atmosphere, cheap monthly drink specials and great pub food make Durty Nelly’s one of my favourite places to go if I’m looking for a quiet drink. My tip would be to become a VIP member. All you have to do is fill in your details on their website and they’ll send you out a brand spanking new VIP member card which will give you 10% off all your drink purchases.

No wonder the Irish live such fabulous, drunken lives. With pubs like this, I too want to convert to Irishism! Came here with a large group on Easter Sunday looking to fill our stomachs with good food and bottomless pints and Durty Nelly’s certainly didn’t let us down. Pub food is seriously making one hell of a comeback these days. Between the chicken parmy, the pumpkin and feta agnolotti and the chicken breast, everything was unbelievably tasty. My friends had zero complaints. I ordered the chicken sandwich and let me tell you something, I’m the town bicycle when it comes to a rockin’ chicken sandwich. If there is a chicken burger to be had, I will have my with it. Durty Nelly’s delivers on all fronts, but their garlic aioli has got to be the best I’ve had in Perth. A chicken burger dripping in garlic aioli, it’s almost better than trapped in Brad Pitt’s pants. Almost. So to sum it all up, all hail the green, white and orange! I’ll be back again and again, Nelly’s. You’ve done your country proud!

Dark and dingey inside, but the verandah is right on Shafto — great place for people watching. Crowd here can be a bit rougher than its newer and more sophisticated neighbour The Generous Squire but that’s probably part of its charm. Staff are generally pretty friendly and the food is consistently delicious! Pizzas, steak, burgers, parmigiana and more English/Irish dishes like bangers and mash and shepherds pie. Portions are HUGE! One of the few bars left in the CBD that haven’t been done up to be more trendy/yuppy!

Having moved from Texas, it was easy enough to find a steak night at bar pretty easily. I guess I took it for granted as the choices are pretty selective in Perth. Durty Nelly’s fits the bill on pretty much all day on Wendesdays and Saturdays offering a T-bone, chips and salad for $ 18. This was my first time at this pretty spacious bar with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There is no waitstaff to take your order, so place your orders at the bar, get your number and they bring your food to you. Make sure you grab silverware, napkins and accessories from inside before you grab the seat. I did appreciate that the bartender was a ginger with and Irish accent so it provided a sense of authenticity to this Irish pub. I grabbed a seat at a table outside and the food arrived in about 10 minutes. Overall it was good for a steak night steak. It seemed as it was pan fried and not broiled or grilled as you’d get in a steakhouse, but then again this isn’t a steakhouse and I’m only paying $ 18 bucks in Perth so I can’t bitch. I had a local brew along with the meal and overall it made for a good experience. I’d probably do it again. The atmosphere is fun and lively and this would be a good venue for grabbing a drink with friends. Cheers!

Durty Nelly’s is very proudly Irish — according to the website, the premises were built in Ireland, then transported all the way to Perth. Durty Nelly’s has some great deals with their drinks, depending on the day — happy hour [5pm-6pm] yields selected pints from $ 7.50. Their selection of beers is rather pedestrian, though — there is the requisite Guinness and Kilkenny, but their other beers are largely Australian. Some of the beers are good, such as the James Squire Golden Ale, and others are forgettable, like Tooheys and Hahn. Durty Nelly’s has a cramped feel to it — it is a narrow building, and it seems like they tried to place as many items as possible within the space. This philosophy also spreads to their outdoors seating, so Durty Nelly’s feels like an ant colony. As a pub, Durty Nelly’s is okay, although with a limited amount of beer available. Still, the prices are not bad and the staff are friendly, so if you are doing a pub crawl around the city, it is worth a visit.

Durty Nelly’s is probably one of the nicer Irish Bars around Perth. It’s in a nice area — although the address is Murray Street, it also opens onto picturesque Shafto Lane, where there is a lovely outside seating area. Once you step inside it’s decked out with the usual ‘Irish bar’ musty interior. Although Durty Nelly’s is known for pouring the best pint in Perth, I came here last week with friends who are used to drinking Guinness in Ireland and they were less than impressed with the quality of the pint here. We’ll give Durty Nelly’s the benefit of the doubt though and say it was because it was probably the first pint pulled of the day — never a good one to get. The food is tasty though. I had creamy cauliflour soup and feta and herb brushetta which was fresh and delightful! My friend had bangers and mash which was made with proper Irish style sausages good sausages — definitely recommended!

$ 6.50 Guinness, $ 7.50 Bulmers, Lamb shanks, Sunday Roast, happy hour, beef and guinness pie, bangers and mash, apple pie… Need I say more? Yes? Biggest seller of Guinness in Australia since January 2009… must be good then.

Step inside Durty Nelly’s and you really will feel like you’ve left Australia and entered Ireland(apart from all the Australian accents you hear around you). It’s dimly lit, cosy and oak-panelled, and apparently(according to a sign outside), it serves the best head in town. I went on a Friday evening, when Durty Nelly’s and every other bar on Murray Street was packed with post-work revellers. Despite its apparent packed-ness, it was surprisingly easy to find somewhere to sit inside. I was just a bit too late for happy hour(5−6pm Monday to Friday), but nevertheless, the drinks were reasonably priced — I went for the beer of the month for $ 7.50, which for November is Kilkenny. A folk duo entertained us with a repertoire that seemed mainly to be made up of Simon and Garfunkel, and, although not particularly Irish, it gave the place a nice, relaxed atmosphere.
