I really can’t get enough of eating the ramen from dosukoi. So glad that they opened up a shop in the city. It is one of my favourite place to go to for lunch. They are hidden in the basement corner of Allendale square. The place is quite small and usually gets pretty busy starting from 11.30am. The good thing is you can bring your plate to the huge sitting area in the food court just a short walk away from the restaurant! So you don’t have to worry about queuing. Their specialty is of course the ramen. Usually I always order the sliced pork rame with soy base and add a side of spicy leek. This combination is the beast and you will be left wanting for more after eating one bowl! The udon and side dish of takoyaki and fried chicken is also very good! Tasty food, fast serving and affordable price. Try this place out if you happens to be in the city during lunch time!

Dosukoi in the city is tucked away in the corner of the Allendale food court. It has a small shopfront with manga books lined against the wall. There is always a bustling work lunch crowd but service is prompt and polite. The ramen is nothing fancy, but wholesome, well portioned and well priced. A favourite is the No.4 or No.5 with miso. The takoyoki and karrage chicken are also good!

I found out about Dosukoi from an old student of mine, who said it was his favourite ramen joint in Perth. He was actually very reluctant to tell me the name because he was worried I would blab, tell everybody and that it would get too crowded. Guilty as charged! This is a cozy little manga nook where they serve top notch ramen. Speedy service and cheap, delicious food. What’s not to like?! The servings are big enough, but not huge. I actually think this is a really positive thing because I find it very difficult to waste good food by leaving it on the plate(or in the bowl as the case may be), so if humanly possible, I will pretty much always make myself sick by finishing every tasty morsel put in front of me. Reasonably sized portions save me from by own tendency towards gluttony. To find this Japanese noodle gem, you need to head underground. If you’re coming from Hay Street, go to Trinity Arcade, head downstairs and keep going until you’re through the tunnel under St George’s Terrace, turn right at Subway and it’s on the left. Enjoy!

Best ramen in Perth! And it’s cheap! AND as good as what you’d get in Japan. Chicken ramen in miso with a side of kaarage chicken(that I’ve referred to as Japanese KFC). I haven’t been disappointed yet by their ramen. Ok take me to a happy place.

To be honest, when I first saw this place open up, I thought to myself…“Oh no, not another teriyaki beef/katsu chicken shop! How boring!!!” But when I finally gave it a go, I was surprised to find a nice range of ramen on their menu! I’ve had ramen in Perth before, but the quality was not even close to what I’ve tasted at Dosukoi. With items like fried chicken or pork ramen in soyu(soya sauce) and miso soup base, there are plenty of flavour combinations to tryout! And if you’re one of the adventurous ppl out there, ask for some chilli for the broth and add some zing to it!

From hearing about the famous ramen in Fremantle Markets, I have always wanted to try Dosukoi. Fortunately, there was another Dosukoi ramen store which has just been opened recently at Allendale Square in Perth CBD.(much nearer to home!) It’s a manga lovers heaven as you are greeted by shelves of manga while slurping your ramen noodles. It also feels like as if you are in one of those small restaurants in the middle of Tokyo! As I grew up reading manga and watching animé, I was able to spot a few of the manga which I am familiar with on the shelves. The store seats only 14 people so yes, it can get busy during lunchtime. Not to fret, the service is very quick, efficient and polite. If there are not enough seats, you are allowed to take your ramen to the food court nearby. I had the No.4 which is the Soft Pork on top and ramen noodle soup in bowl with a soy sauce base($ 9.90)(You can choose from soy sauce, miso or salt based for the soup). One spoon and I was hooked! The ramen was so delicious and the soup was full of flavour, that I ended up drinking the whole bowl of soup leaving the bowl spotless at the end. Mum had the No.7 which is the Japanese vegetables on top and Soba(buckwheat) noodle soup in bowl.($ 8.25) Mum enjoyed her dish too and thought that it was tasty but she still prefers the ramen which I had. My verdict? Yes I will be back to Dosukoi and I can’t wait for my next visit to slurp on some yummy and authentic ramen again! And YAY for lunch under $ 10 to keep your belly happy!

How have I worked several floors above this place for a month and only just discovered it?! I’ve missed 30 days worth of raman :) The ramen here is delicious, fast and the noodles are just perfect! So far I’ve tried the pork with miso base and the fried chicken with soy base. They’re both beautiful and the perfect dish to warm you up in this cold weather!

Decent Ramen in Perth. This second store of the Dosukoi ramen chain started in the freo markets. Catering to the lunch crowd during the week days, this ramen house is well situated in the underground arcade off St Georges Terrace. Manga comics line the walls on nearly all sides and are readable if you can read Japanese. I struggled to find any in English vut don’t let that deter you from having a look. Fast, friendly and tasty — what’s not to like? Our personal favouries include the soy base option(you can get miso or salt base also) with either fried chicken or soft pork.

Great Ramen house. Surrounded by Japanese comics but feel free to open and read as they’re actually in English. They have another branch in Freo.
