Darling Nail Salon

Got my nails done here at a moment’s notice last Friday. I was in a wedding the next day, so it was completely last minute but they were able to get me in no problem.
I got a french manicure and french pedicure. They put the massager on in the chair for me (omg, SO good and relaxing, I nearly fell asleep! Haha), and one of the ladies did my pedicure, while the other did my manicure. They gave me a foot and hand massage as well, and it was super relaxing.
They were very nice, friendly and worked quickly. The price is fair, and much better than I expected to be for full manicure & pedicure (was only $ 70 for everything.
The end result looked beautiful! I’m really happy with the results and will definitely go back again. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

They are able to do any design on nail which is perfect! The service was very friendly! Definitely going back!

A very average service. They rushed everything and the results weren’t good. I had a French and there were some dots on the white polish section. When asked the girl to fix it she tried fixing it by another layer of polish which looked horrible and they started talking angrily with each other as if they are nagging! Working in customer service section myself won’t go back to this place next time.

First time at Darling Nail Salon today. A really lovely experience for a my shellac pedicure. Nana who looked after me was very friendly and gentle. There’s a hot towel too!
Not the cheapest In the city but by far the best. I will be back and I’ll be telling my friends.

I had a manicure and pedicure. There are tonnes of colours to choose from, ranging from normal polish to gel and shellac. I had gold glitter gel polish on my nails and the usual 3 coats wasn’t enough and Venus so kindly asked if I’d like another, great attention to detail. The shop itself is clean and bright and airy and the girls working there are nice and smiley. I went on a Friday night at approximately 6:30pm and had to put my name down for an appointment as they were quite busy, only had to wait 20 minutes before they could take me. Its nice that they don’t rush you and you have time to just soak your feet and relax in the chair before the foot scrub starts. I will definitely be back!

Searching for a nail salon to have shellac done, I came upon darling. They confirmed they had shellac and asked me to pick a colour from the colour wheel. First sign of trouble: I asked for a specific colour (creekside) and he said he ‘didn’t know which is which’ so I’d have to pick from the wheel. Upon picking a colour that looked like it could be creekside (blue) he pulled a pink bottle off the shelf filled with blue nail polish. Seems verrrry unlikely to me that would be real shellac.
The manicure itself was fine, but I was not at all happy with the shellac. It really needed a third coat as was still patchy in places but she put on the top coat before I had a chance to comment. I inspected my nails once I left and most of them weren’t even painted down to the cuticle, making my nails look grown out when they were freshly done. A few days later, the polish is lifting off my nails. Very unimpressed and for $ 45, save your money and go elsewhere!

Just done full set acrylic pink and white, its actually the best acrylic nail I ever had. So pleased with the service and result. Definitely come back again next month. Couldn’t ask for better one. Thank you for Yuki and Phoebe.

I come here every school holidays for a pedicure. I never make a booking, just walk in. Although they were busy I didn’t have to wait long & had a nice foot soak & massage in the massage chairs while I waited. They always do a thorough job, especially with that grater on my dry heels, haha :) There’s a large assortment of nail polish so I can choose a different colour every time. After realising my feet are really ticklish, the pedicurist (if that’s even a word) focused on a great leg massage!
The salon is bright and welcoming and looks extremely clean. Staff cleaned each area after their clients left. The staff seem to keep to themselves but I was happy relaxing and watching all the people go by.

My major issue with this place begun by the fact that I also experienced a sub standard job on my nails. I got a $ 60 Mani Pedi with $ 25 Shellac quoted. The french manicure was uneven with the shellac and there are now bubbles in it and the white looks different on each finger. I have cuts to the side of the nails on 4 of my fingers, two toes and under my big toe.
However, the most upsetting thing with this experience was when I tried to explain I was in pain from all the cuts that had been through various alcohol rubbing and it was not a very good job done the manager, with another staff member commencing arguing with me that they ONLY cut the cuticle and then tried to deny the cuts on my toes because they were covered with nail polish.
They then played me by calling security and threatened to «Sue» me for defamation in front of their customers. The truth is a defence to defamation and I have photos to prove this on my page.

Even allowing for the fact that they were very busy and I was a walk-​in, I still feel they did a really sub-​standard job on my mani-​pedi. For $ 60 I got a rushed and in my opinion incomplete pedicure and a manicure where the girl cut off so much cuticle my finger started bleeding. Not good at all!

Darlings is a pampering palace!
After a long day, what better excuse to sit down and be fussed over than treating yourself to a manicure? I very rarely indulge in such frivilous activities but when I do, I expect great service at a reasonable price– and Darlings meets my needs. Usually salons are everywhere, right up until you are specifically looking for them and then they disappear– Murphys’ Law perhaps. I found this Salon by accident traversing between Murray Street and Hay Street Malls.
The salon is fairly small, with 4 work benches and 2 «nai stations» in each. They also have 4 pedicure baths and accompanying plush chairs along the wall so the space, while not HUGE is used effectively. Ultimately being intimate without feeling like you’re sitting in fellow «ladies of leisure“s laps. I went there last week for some acryic action before xmas and found the ladies to be lovely. The prices were reasonable ($ 50 for a full set plus polish) and the service is the best. There were only 3 customers when I arrived at 7: pm on a late night Friday and the technicians, while engaging in signature vietnamese shop talk, were friendly and efficient.
I have a tendancy to bend my pinky finger, it has never been broken but it’s a habbit I never grew out of, This doesn’t cause me any dramas in day to day life however it does cause much annoyance for many a nail technician. On this occassion, the woman doing my nails was very patient and gently tapped me to pay attention. This was a much more preferable approach to the finger cracking yanks that I have endured in the past. The customer service was great, the attention to detail was perfect and, even when I accidentally got too close to the drying fan and smudged one of my polished nails, (whooo000op) it was immediately cleared off and repainted, (for the record, that fan was covered in nail polish from others who had fallen victim before!) The pride in their work and positive atmosphere have solidified my loyalty to these darlings!
