Like most airport restaurants and cafés, Aroma’s is nothing special and charges you for the privilege. Flatbreads and focaccias go for the price of decent-​sized mains in the city. But as far as a non-​VIP airport space goes it’s nevertheless all right. The coffee is hot enough. The food is filling. The seats are comfortable and there’s enough room to pull ones suitcase between the tables. The planes taxi around outside the window and it’s as good a place as any to spend your last few minutes with a loved one before they head on through security and out of sight.
There’s also beer and wine on hand, which any frequent flyer will tell you is the key to whole endeavour. Of course it might make more sense to wait until you’re on the plane to start drinking, because the prices of alcohol, too, are too high. Grapes, it seems, are very rare here as well.
