So I consider myself somewhat of a «Soul Origin connoisseur», having been a very regular attendant at the Hunter Connection one(which I thought might have been the original) and now others all over Sydney. They seem to pop up everywhere. It’s quite a good business model — fresh, healthy salads and tasty sandwiches. The only problem is you don’t quite get the same quality at each franchise and this one has given me 2 sub-SO quality lunches so it’s time for an average review. Today’s grilled chicken wrap had only 3 small chicken pieces and was largely filled with lettuce, with 2 small pieces of tomato. Sorry, but for $ 9 that’s just not good enough. I also had the beetroot feta salad there a few weeks back that was full of flowering roquette. The staff are very friendly though, compared to the surprisingly elitist attitude of some other franchises(Int’l airport I’m talking about you). But in terms of better food, the SO on the ground floor of Parra Westfield is worth the walk to get a better lunch.

Finally, a pretty decent place to get a feed up on Level 5 foodcourt in Westfield. Great selection of salads and patient staff(for those of us who just can’t decide on what to order). So here’s the deal, you select the size of your takeout container, point to the salads you want and off they go. The grilled chicken and the beef salad are both exceptional and surprisingly, a fair amount of that protein is packed into your container. They suggest various dressings(apparently the lime mayo dressing is to-die-for) but the classic evoo and lemon is perfect to coat the luscious greens in the salad. I suspect my server thought he was an extra in Cocktail — spinning and flipping his spoons and tongs — seriously dude, like I get it, its impressive, but I’d rather keep my eye thanks. ohh and that’s a NO to salad stains on my clothes.
