Pretty similar to their store in Rhodes. Have mainly been here for Yum cha and its always been the same. Depends on where you are seated, sometimes the trolley comes more often then other seating areas. I like how it is in the shopping centre as you can do some shopping and then take a quick dumpling break! Huh!(this will come in handy for the upcoming xmas shopping rush). Staff are friendly and helpful. Although, some little old ladies try to push food onto you, you know what you want so stand your ground! local businesses.

went here last week for dinner. my friend ordered a vegetable dish and it took 70 minutes to be served! by that time we were already finished. the manager didn’t even apologize and he even took the food away instead of giving it to us for free as a compensation. will never eat here again. besides this, everything is so overpriced. they charge $ 2.50 pp for tea. compared to the chinese joints downstairs they are free.

Went for some Yum Cha on a Saturday, arriving about 1230. We waited around 15mins for a table for 3(not long). Drinks service was good, I’ve been to others where drink orders were forgotten or they wouldn’t check in to refill — but we ordered a few beers and tea which was delivered promptly. The carts came through quickly also — good selection of dim sims and dumplings, although perhaps lacking some of the more exotic combinations which are available at other restaurants. We also chose some noodles and crispy fried chicken. Between 3 of us lunch was $ 110(inc. 4 beers), which is a bit higher than some others but reasonable and we all left full. The restaurant is bright with big windows looking out onto the street/buildings across the road. A good place to head for lunch with family/friends.

I love this place and usually there almost every month either with friends or my son. The staff are unlike other Pheonix restaurants, they are quite friendly and all smiles. The food is great I love the yum cha, don’t miss the pork and the mango pancakes yummy It is a little pricey tho.

Went past this fancy looking place a few times before and finally went in. Regret it totally. Food was yuk! Ordered a la carte during yum cha and got rehashed sping roll from the trolley. Meat inside it was awful. My autistic child loves Chinese but even ditched the spring roll because of the dodgy meat. Crispy Boneless Chicken with Lemon fluoresced and looked like something from Krypton. ¾ food returned Never going back! DONTWASTEYOURMONEY&TIME!

We went here for the last time a couple nights ago. The only reason we started dropping in here was a convenient bite before a movie because event cinemas is next door across the walkway bridge. But I think we’ve experimented enough. The main reasons for disappointment is the food quality is undeserving of the price tags. We only had 1x entrée, 1x main &2x soft drinks and it still costed nearly $ 50. What is with that? You need to remember the cost on the menu because you’ll never see it again until after you’ve paid and they give you a receipt. It’s probably because they have franchise hype or location wise rent but forget this place, there’s plenty of decent Chinese restaurants down the escalators along Chinatown with better quality and more authenticity. The food was just normal, you can get takeaway at the same quality. They like to drown you in Chinese tea and prowling the tables service. Really I’m quite underwhelmed.

I attended a family function to celebrate my neices 21st birhtday. We ordered dishes that we liked and then shared them with the guests. I found the portions sizes very generous. The food ordered included for example Crispy Chicken very tasty was all good with the exception of barbeque Pork which was tough and not exceptionally tasty but the portion sizes where generous. The group also ordered deserts which was well received to finish dinner.

Always delicious and fresh food! Great for big groups but the small portions make it easy to rack up a fairly high bill.

Really surprised to see how low the score is for this spot! Full disclosure: I’m white. You might even describe me as ‘white as’. So my yum cha consisted of prawn toast, dumplings, spring rolls, fried wontons and all the other white dude staples. If there was sweet & sour pork and beef & black bean on those little pleasurecarts of delicious morsels, I would have ordered that too. Oh the caucasity! I finished off with the most delicious egg tart of all time and went home(probably to watch cricket or something I guess) a very happy stereotype.

We have been to other outlets of this chain which were very reasonable. This place however is terrible. Rude customer service from the moment we walked in. The staff were upset we arrived in two groups 5 mins apart as we arrived in different cars. They seated us at a table where we could not fit our toddler and new born baby. We asked if we could move and so they put us in an even less comfortable table with less room. Just really poor customer relations and service overall. 1 star, I’m afraid.

I think this was really 3.5 stars The restaurant is light and airy. It is clean and has a nice ambience. I have only been for yum cha during the day. we have always had great service and have been back twice As soon as you arrive, a drinks waiter is at your table organising drinks for you — please remember to ask him for soy or chilli sauce and he will bring it straight away. Then a line of trolleys starts with delicious goodies. When I haven’t been able to see my favourites the ladies on the trolley have asked what I wanted and have organised someone to bring it to me or have placed a special order with the kitchen. It is great knowing that you will get the dumplings you want. I recommend ordering steamed prawn and garlic chive dumplings the green vegetables in soy and oyster sauce– a must at any yum cha the sesame prawns/prawns in rice paper vegetarian options — spring rolls and dumplings were also good do not order the prawn toast. we also like the pineapple buns for dessert. I recommend going on the weekend when the restaurant is busy, but If you must go during the week — go early to ensure you get your items hot and fresh.

Absolutely amazing! I have been to this Phoenix around 20 times since it opened in 2012. They have great service, always say hello as myself and my fiancé have been many times, they know our order every time and are always professional. All the bad reviews below, I don’t know why they’ve had such a bad experience but I love Phoenix Parramatta. Rhodes… horrible.

I’ve only been to Parramatta Phoenix for the a la carte dinner, they also have Yum cha at lunchtimes. I agree with Melissa S, the servings are generous, food is good, and the service is fine. The prices are a bit higher than the Church St chinatown places, but the décor is nicer, you’ll get a comfortable seat for instance… Try the duck meat egg rolls, or the crispy skin shandong chicken, both very tasty. At our first visit, just after it opened, we were served by a guy who looked straight out of a Triad movie, but he was lovely and ended up putting a smiley face on our bill: Hilarious!

I’ve walked past this place all the time but it looks pretty fancy and I assumed it would be out of my price range. Three hungry people who couldn’t get a table at their favourite restaurant decided to give it a go! Main dishes are between $ 20-$ 30, which in my opinion is pricey for Chinese in Parramatta. But I tell you what, I’d pay that price again and again! The food here is delicious and the servings are generous. We each got a meal, an entrée of Spring Rolls and a bottle of wine and it came to $ 40 a piece — not too shabby for the quality that you were presented with. We had the Shredded Beef, which was just melt in your mouth delectable, Crispy Skin Duck and the Crispy Skin Chicken in Ginger and Shallots. Each dish was cooked beautifully. I haven’t had duck that good for quite a while! Being relatively new, the décor and design of the restaurant is fresh and clean. The waitstaff were very attentive and seemed completely in control of the rather large and full restaurant. We didn’t have to wait long for our meals at all, and the waiter always came back to top up our wine. I probably would save this restaurant for a special occasion or if I wanted to impress a friend. Great place for a first date in my opinion as the atmosphere is intimate and the noise levels are low — you can have a decent conversation. Two criticisms. One is that the ‘classy’ feel of the place is a little ruined by the massive T. V screen on one wall. T. V’s don’t belong in restaurants! The second is the ridiculous $ 10 per bottle corkage charge.
