During the 80s Toyworld was THE toy store to visit. They used to be a huge chain of stores that fulfilled every toy need. So what happened? I suspect it had a lot to do with the advent of video games. They became hugely popular around the early 90s, which is around the time Toyworld stores started closing their doors. A lot of Toyworld stores didn’t stock video games until the mid 90s and beyond, and their prices were ridiculously high. Whatever the reason, now less than a handful of these stores remain. I suppose the resurgence of Lego has contributed to the 3 or 4 remaining stores staying alive, and the Parafield store only recently opened in the past couple of years. If it’s Lego you want though, you could do far worse than look here. They have a large amount of Lego in stock as well as other toys. I didn’t see any video games in this store. I suppose they leave that to Toys R Us now(another reason I suspect they all died off). If you want to relive the 80s a bit or just want a good, honest toy store then take a trip down here.
