Founded in 1973 as Orange Christian Book Centre, we are now called Pilgrim Books and are in 52 McNamara Street, Orange.

Meet the Manager

Jeff T.

Manager

Jeff Townsend grew up reading. He spent hours most days devouring Christian fiction books written for children. In those days most Christian children’s books came from England.

Jeff learned a lot from reading, and to this day has a large collection of English Sunday School award books. So it was natural that he would want to one day write his own Children’s books. In 1997, shortly after getting his first laptop computer, Jeff started compiling the ideas for the plot and characters of «The Smuggler’s Den.» He finished writing this book in 2000 and the following year decided to publish it himself. «The Smuggler’s Den» came out in October 2001 and was the only Christian children’s book published in Australia that year. It rapidly became a best seller!
