Burgers are nice and a decent size. Nice atmosphere. Not my first and surely not my last!

Can’t fault Grill’d Norwood. Their burgers are amazingly delicious and the service is great. Large range of burgers for meat eaters, 2 vegetarian options and one vegan option(friends of falafel) which is one of the best burgers on the menu. Their chips are crispy and tasty and come with a choice of dipping sauces. The tomato relish is nice and if you’re into really hot/spicy sauces, there is a chili mayo. Plenty of soft drinks and alcoholic beverages too. You won’t leave hungry! P.S the location of this burger joint is ideal for catching a movie after as there is a Hoyts in the same complex.

Delicious, classy and just a touch out of the price range I’m willing to throw at daily work lunch. But when it comes to no-limits Friday lunch, I’d go nowhere else. The burgers are fresh and plentiful and make a mockery of other nearby burger joints with their oddly amazing buns and funky options. Selling beers doesn’t lower my rating of the place either. Keep on keeping on you brilliant young people and your hip new businesses. We are all winners when your love of such places brings them crashing into my local lunchspace.

Hmm I wouldn’t say that this is the best burger bar in town. Don’t get me wrong, the service was great but they are way over priced and taste of the meal was average. there are plenty of other burger places in town I would go before visiting Grill’d.

We ended up here at Grill’d for lunch on a warm day based on their highchair availability and shaded outside dining area complete with fans. Burger joints are the new thing in Adelaide so Grill’d is facing some competition here. I ordered the Mustard and Pickled and Bridie tried the low carb super bun with sweet potato chips to share. The burger was towering and I struggled for a while before giving in and requesting a knife and fork. I think these are on the inside tables already(unsure) but I would have preferred they arrive with the meal. It was okay, but I kind of picked it apart and being distracted by the toddler meant I didn’t end up eating a lot of it. The chips were super hot as is the conducting energy power of the sweet potato but tasty, if not a little enthusiastically salted. The toddler wasn’t feeling it in the high chair but once allowed to roam around a bit, improved her mood. Thankfully the outside area wasn’t very busy so I’m hoping she didn’t annoy anyone. Service was okay, if not a little hurry-upish towards the end. I like the bottle cap charity concept. I extremely don’t like the Pepsi exclusivity. As if you don’t want to wash down your burger with an ice cold Coke! All in all, okay. Just okay.

Expensive and mediocre, but pretty filling. I don’t exactly get the hype around this place — their burgers are decent — but not something I would pay top dollar for. Yet this place remains a hot spot for those burger lovin’ Adelaidians. The location is pretty good, and the presentation of the store reminds me of a few restaurants back in the states — the staff are all very friendly, and I admire the addition of the bottle caps — charity thing they have going on. It’s good to see businesses support local charities. They DO have a very large selection of burgers, that caters to every taste, if you can’t find something you like on their menu you probably shouldn’t be eating burgers. They even have vegan and gluten free options Their burgers for me, are a tad pricey, but admittedly are very filling, so in this instance I would say that quantity beats quality. Alas, to me the burger was plain, dry, and overall — lackluster and boring, I was told that maybe I should have picked a different ‘better’ burger from the menu, but you shouldn’t have to, you should be able to get whatever burger you want and still have it taste darn good. Their thick cut chips are a plus, but way too salty. I may have to come back and try again but at this stage, I am less than willing to spend money on something I found so mediocre and plain, it seemed like a fancy Hungry Jacks rather than an upcoming burger joint.

I can’t fault Grill’d. To be honest I didn’t have high expectations of going here as the current Adelaide abomination of burger joints seems to have satisfied my burger needs. I wasn’t sure it could get any better! I think the overall experience justifies my high rating. Upon arriving for lunch it seemed quite busy and nonetheless the girl at the counter had the time to be friendly and serve me without it seeming rushed. They take your name so when they bring your food to your table it feels as though they are personally greeting you and handing over your food which I felt was nice. I ordered the Bird and Brie burger which was delicious. I chose the sweet chilli mayo sauce which was fantastic! The best chip dipping sauce I’ve ever had! Definitely check out this place if you haven’t yet!

Grilled is my preferred burger because it’s hefty but not oily. Been appreciating these burgers since they started on Glenferrie Rd

Yet another burger joint has opened in Adelaide but of course I must try it out for myself after hearing mixed reviews. We went on a Wednesday night and it was actually quite busy. Staff were friendly and energetic, I received good service. I thought the menu itself presents a good variety of choices with even lamb lovers and vegetarians getting more than one option. Upon ordering your burgers there are three types of buns to choose from, traditional, panini or gluten free. I went for panini. I had the Chicken Caesar and it was tasty. It didn’t feel greasy, every bite was fresh with a crunch from the lettuce and the chicken fillet wasn’t dry either. I half expected the trim bacon to be jerky like but it wasn’t. I was quite impressed though as far as being a healthy burger, it charts pretty high on the actual calorie count. My partner had Simply Grill’d with tasty cheese which is your classic beef burger with salad, relish and cheese. He said the patty was a bit rubbery. It felt like each bite was healthier because there was a good amount of lettuce. Downside — for a beef burger, wasn’t really tasting the beef much. We ordered a sweet potato chips and regular chips too. The sweet potato chips were a nice change albeit a bit pricey in my opinion. For $ 4.80 you get a snack size cup while for the same $ 4.80 you get a regular cup of traditional chips. That’s two cup sizes up. For a regular cup of sweet potato chips it will be $ 8.80(the to share option). I felt a bit overcharged for my healthier option. It’s a decent place but there are many other better burger joints in Adelaide I would go to first. :-/

I wish I could give it more stars. I was excited to see a Grill’d in Adelaide, but the truth is there are some Adelaide businesses doing it better. The chips at Fancy Burger are better. They don’t have Diet Coke(an abject sin in my book!) and my burger was OK, it just wasn’t great. The Grill’d I went to in Melbourne was outstanding and I’m sad to say that the Adelaide one didn’t live up to expectations(rushed service, bun toasted on top, but not in the middle and slightly soggy chips). Maybe like other Adelaide things, wait until the hype dies down and they iron out the kinks?

It’s about damn time Grill’d came to Adelaide! Let’s face it. There’s excessive amounts of burger joints in Adelaide. Some are too damn small to fit a group of 6, some will make your cholesterol levels hit the roof, some are seriously pricey. BUT I’m overly happy to announce that Grill’d killed them all. Firstly, the location is perfect. The seating area is quite large, inviting more than just a couple of people in(more like families of 8) which is perfect! The menu choices are endlessssssssssssssssss. I went for ‘Simon Says’: grilled chicken, herbed mayo, smashed avo with tomato and lettuce on my choice of a traditional seeded bun(Note: you get to choose which buns best suit your burger). I have to say, the burger was quite close to perfection. You know that feeling when your eating a burger and grease slides out the bottom, and soggy insides droooool out and you end up in a huge mess? It’s just not gonna happen when you order a burger from Grill’d Service was fantastic despite the full house when I visited. All in all, a burgerlicious experience!

Finally got through the line ups to try this place. The best time to come for dinner is 5.30pm to 6.30pm. It’s still busy but we managed to get a table inside without needing a booking. They only do bookings for eight people or more. It’s a bit harsh but their turn over must be that good they don’t worry too much… until the fad is over of course. I’ve been going to grill’d in Melbourne, so it’s not new to me. However I wanted to see how this one compares. It’s about the same. It’s only a little bigger to cope with the demand I guess. I had the crispy bacon and cheese burger with a side of the famous chips. The burger was good and not too messy to eat, which I like. The chips were a bit too salty. I was quite thirsty after. It costed about $ 16 in total, which it’s too bad to pay for a burger and chips. The wait staff were friendly, hipster looking. They ask for your name when ordering, so they can get the right table and person when delivering the goods. Nice. Why don’t other restaurants do that? They didn’t try and kick us out early with the line up of ppl either. Timing is important. Might take my family here when it dies down even more. Just waiting for the next fad… Costco.

This review will be almost meaningless. However. I am going to write it up. Why meaningless/of little value? Well because I don’t feel that 1 visit is enough. The space grill’d have bought here is massive. The rent would be astronomical. So they have employed enthusiastic young smiley people to win you over on this being the best burger venue in Adelaide. They will be successful because lots of Adelaidians who moved to Melbourne have told stories to others about Grill’d for years: we all know someone. So is Grill’d the Kirspy Kream of the burger world? I’ll let you decide. Irrespective of the above dribble… the food is relatively … no: quite ‘clean’. I had a grilled chicken burger(Caesar), and really wish I didn’t, I wanted something with more flavour. Sitting at about 700 calories, it isn’t a bad option for a cheat meal for someone watching calories. The mayo was bland, and it came with egg. Besides that, it was OK but dry. Even the bacon is a low fat short cut piece. I had food envy on my other two friends who both had ‘steak sandwiches’. They looked far more appetising. We did Sliders too, which were cool @ 3 for 15. I recommend those as a way to sample some other flavours. I am glad grill’d is here. It gives another option to get a decent feed at. I just wonder if their service and ‘dedication’ will slip as the store and franchise gets older.

After two visits, Grill’d has lived up to my burger expectations! With a convenient location, lots of seating and outdoor heating Grill’d has a lot going for it — and that’s without even considering the burgers! There are lots of burger options(including gluten free and bun less) so it’s easy to find something that you want. The burgers taste nice and fresh, and don’t make you feel like you’ve eaten ‘fast food’. The chips are great(and thick cut), although I wasn’t amazed by the sweet potato chips. Plain tomato sauce is complimentary, although you can also purchase specialty sauces with your meal. Alcohol is also available along with the usual drink varieties. Staff are very friendly and there are always so many of them around to help. Considering how busy it was, the food service was quite fast. After your meal is delivered, a waiter even comes around to check that you are enjoying your meal. Great burgers, great service and great location!

Grill’d Adelaide … you delivered the goods !!! Having high expectations given previous grill’d experiences in Perth and Melbourne I was very excited(and slightly nervous) to see how Adelaide would deliver this popular franchise. what a job they have done! Restaurant looks awesome with plenty of seating space. Staff were super friendly checking on how the meals were going and dishing out burgers(hardly a 5min wait)! I popped in after a movie at 9.30 on a Wednesday night and the place was absolutely packed. There were plenty of staff which complemented the wonderful dining experience. The burger was delish. no grease. fresh & oh so tasty. I opted for the beef bacon & cheese and was very impressed. The chips were of course up to grill’d standard. I will be back. again & again!

I’m certainly a fan — have never heard of Grill’d before, but apparently they’re big interstate. The site is clean, and inviting — there is outdoor dining, with heaters, but when we went there the wind was too blustery for us! They also serve beers(couldn’t spy ciders) as well as the usual soft-drinks. Didn’t get to try the chips, but they’re also gluten-free and judging by the sounds coming from the table over, are good! Most burgers can be made gluten free, for $ 1.50 extra, or just forgo the bun. There’s one size for GF, sorry, no sliders folks! I’ll be back — it’ll be a good place to go before the footy at Coopers Oval I reckon. Good plan!

Much as it pains me to say, I really really enjoyed this burger experience. Why would it ‘pain me’ I hear you ask. Well I must admit kind of wanted to hate Grill’d. I wanted the service to be flawed and the burger to be rubbish because this franchised store is muscling in on the home turf of some fantastic, locally owned burger joints, all with brilliant back stories and great local connections(that being said, I am very aware that Grill’d do some great local initiatives at each store for local community groups). Grill’d is a Victorian franchise and we all know that there’s a bit of an established rivalry there so I had plenty of reason to be apprehensive. So here’s the tale of my first(and yes, certainly not my last) Grill’d visit; Even a week after their grand opening there was a line-up out the door — either people are keen to try something hot and new or these burgers are genuinely good(probably a little from column a and a little from column b). The line moved super quickly and soon we were at the front — ordering a Mustard and Pickled! beef burger and a Goats Cheese and Hummus lamb burger — there was a choice of bread — we chose the healthier looking wholemeal one and then topped it off with some ‘famous Grill’d Chips’(a claim I though a bit bold considering I’d previously never heard of their fame…) Finding a table in the crowd was a little struggle but we grabbed one and not long after, despite the large number of orders, our food arrived. At first it looked a little too healthy — I get that it’s a healthy burger joint, but when it comes to burgers there is a fine line… any how, the first bite took away any doubt I had in my mind. The mustard and pickle burger was divine — great flavours and delicious at every bite. The lamb burger was fantastic as well(please note I didn’t eat ALL of both — I shared…) and to top it off, the seasoning on the chips has left me wanting more(the chips themselves weren’t anything to write home about, but the seasoning blew my mind). After my meal I also felt great — not heavy and weighed down like I feel after eating some other burgers! There are many other options on the menu that I’m itching to try so with a heavy and a guilty conscious I will be returning to Grill’d in the very near future.

Adelaide been invaded by Grill’d!!! Welcomed to Adelaide! On this drizzly wintry day, the queue was long and everyone was patient to sample free burgers! What a clever marketing plan, give them a taste n they will keep coming back, as I will. Honestly, after an hour and a half of queuing in the cold, anything is fantastic for free — cheeky comment not warranted, so here’s the correction, the burger I had was genuinely tasty, moist and no short cuts even on this busy sampling day. I wish I could fit in another but we were told to experience the taste and be considerate of others after us and besides one was more than enough for me as the patty was a generous serve n well grilled with fresh salad of lettuce and tomatoes and herb mayo. There was meat in every mouthful I took. There were knives n extra napkins placed in containers on the table for those who needs to cut the burger into bite size, how thoughtful! Healthy burger they advertised, on offer were grass fed lean beef and lamb, free from all added hormones & antibiotics. There was no mention of free range chicken but lean breast meat trimmed of all fat being used for chicken burgers. I didn’t order any chips but there were several types being offered as I noticed as they passed me by to other diners. The full menu is long, you will just have to find that out yourself! Forgot to mention about the bacon, they are ‘trim bacon’, so if you are expecting some grease, forget it.
