Came here for brunch. Ordered eggs Benedict, poached eggs, crêpe, and pancakes. Crêpe wasn’t anything special. Eggs Benedict and poached eggs came as boiled eggs. We even addressed it to the waiter who nodded and walked away. The only item that was decent were the pancakes. Hence the one star.

Who doesn’t like pancakes, really? This popular franchise is very consistent, they obviously work with a decent time proven pancake batter template and stick to it, to keep the consistency. They offer variations of what to serve with the pancakes, my favourite is anything incorporated with banana. I’ve found the banana at times to be grilled only on the sliced part and bottom left raw but overall the dishes generally look the same as the pictures. I must admit I do prefer simple buttermilk pancakes over their chocolate pancakes, just doesn’t taste as good as the traditional one. You can customize your pancake dish, I’ve done so to the max. At least because the consistency is so spot on, I am consistently unimpressed with the chocolate pancake. With their many branches and lack of competition, they can literally do whatever they want if it keeps bringing in the customers. Because of this people would view this restaurant chain as almost a novelty that tastes decent and so they’ll keep coming. Pancakes aside, they do some savoury dishes also, although the real winners are the pancakes. They also do an all day breakfast menu, pancake incorporated of course. The main reason we keep returning is for the late opening hours and close to home, which is perfect for the occasional pancake fix. If they weren’t so close we probably wouldn’t visit as often, probably less than once a year. Either way, this place is ideal for families, groups and kids, kids especially. Take them there to fill their bellies and tire them out, works like a charm.

The food is fairly consistent all the batters and everything are pre made. Parking is terrible and the place is usually really busy of a morning on the weekend. They will give the kids a colouring in page and pencils which is good. If your looking for more desert based meals then you will like it. The ribs etc are terrible anything a bit more complex isn’t that good actually.

Ordered rib eye steak, a rack of pork ribs, nachoes, calamari entre, chicken and bacon pizza and a Mexican crêpe. Pizza and nachoes were decent like most times that I’ve eaten it. Crêpe wasn’t anything special. Disappointed with our ribs. Lacked flavour and was dry. We ordered our rib eye medium but it was so rare and chewy that we asked for another one to be cooked. Our second steak was cooked medium but you could see and taste the burnt char. Overall not impressed this time round

Early morning brekky on a public holiday. You always know that this place will be open — even on Christmas Day too! My favs are the ultimate — two yummy crepes filled with sweet cream cheese and sultana filling served with vanilla ice cream. And also the Mexicana — two crepes filled with a spicy beef mince filling served with sour cream and guacamole. The kids always love their funny faced pancake.

Pancakes on the rocks is the Australian version of IHOP. Located near to McDonalds, Shell gas station, KFC and a thai restaurant is this place. The entrance is towards the back. The server gave me a choice to seat(inside/outside) and(4 person seat — sofa seat or two person seat) and I took the sofa seat so that I am able to see the whole layout of this restaurant. Was given the menu and I was indecisive on whether to get savory(breakfast) or sweet pancakes and ended up getting myself a Strawberry field pancakes(butter pancakes). The butter pancakes came in very good portions. It was soft yet fluffy. The strawberries on the sides were fresh and cut into halves(they probably give me around six strawberries). There was a little of strawberry jam as well together with a vanilla ice-cream which blended nicely in this dish. I love it as it wasn’t too dry. You will pay at the counter. For the price, it was considered affordable too. Will give the macadamia and chocolate pancakes as well as their crepes a try soon. Update: tried their Ultimate crêpe but there was too much of sour crème that I could only consume 1.5 out of the 2 crepes.

THENUMBER1PANCAKERESTAURANTINAUSTRALIA. Please tell me if you find something better because if you do, i would like to know and tell you that YOU’REWRONG :-) If you are craving pancakes or crepes, both savoury and/or sweet, with a side of sloppy thick shakes to wash it down with, then this is the place to be. Serving sizes are perfect, you’ll never leave the restaurant hungry. The service, the workers, the setting, the ambiance, is great. I didn’t have any issues with that. You can bring you’re friends their, you can bring you’re entire family there and it is very kid friendly :-) I’m lucky to say that i have a pancake restaurant close to home in Parramatta, the west needs more restaurants like this coming our way! I’ve been here a few times. I’ve had breakfast, crepes, milkshakes, pancakes and pizza. Their diverse menu is a people pleaser! So, lets get down to the nitty-gritty, their PANCAKES! i’ve tried a few of their pancakes, but nothing beats their strawberry patch pancakes. Their pancakes are very soft and fluffy and our filled with buttermilk goodness. It is drenched with the right amount of coulis and fruit and what i like about their pancakes is that their ratio of cream to icecream is balanced. There’s nothing worse then having pancakes, waffles or WHATEVER, than having your dish filled with a mountain of whipped cream and a tablespoon of icecream, cz lets face it, everyone prefers icecream over whipped cream on their pancakes :-) but the balances at Pancakes on The Rocks, is just right! There were a few times though when the pancakes have been served a bit dry ie not enough sauce or coulis, but thats not a concern, just ask one of your friendly waiters to give you a small dish of that extra sauce and you’ll be set for life! Have fun, and make sure you check out the rest of their menu, they don’t only serve pancakes at Pancakes on The Rocks ;-)

I’ve been here a couple of times but always at night and only orders pancake. Every time I come at night it’s always busy and pretty pack. Waiting is not very long though. But now I came here in the afternoon. Not much of people and the customer service was still pretty good as the night service. But then the waitresses are not seem very welcoming as always. But I don’t care about that, I care about the food. When we ordered the waiter asked us if we want all that we ordered all at same time. You can actually have a choice if you want to get the starters first before your main meal. So don’t blame them if you got everything at the same time and some of your r meals went cold while you were eating the other once Food: We ordered nachos, pork ribs, and pancakes today. Nachos are alight but it got too much dipping sauce and not enough nachos. It seems a lot but it’s just because all the dipping sauce are underneath so if you eating nachos dig it up. Lol. Because you might think that there’s no enough sauce for you. Pork ribs. The one that ordered are not evenly seasoned some part are too freaking salty some part are not. Potato wedges are not cook properly and a bit tough. There is nothing special on the barbecue sauce either. It’s like a grilled ribs poured with some store brand barbecue sauce. I guess just make your own if you want to eat ribs in this place. I bet yours will be better ;). And the salad. I hate the salad here because it is just a plain leaves with just a small drop of vinegarette. I want my salad with some sort of salad dressing. Lastly is the pancake. Pancake is pretty good as usual. FYI: there is no nearest transport in this area so you just got to have a car or ride a taxi to go here. Lol. And for the bathroom for guys, they only have one urinal and one toilet bowl so if you going to come here at night do your thing first or forever hold your s#&*. Because it feels like you’re waiting there forever. But then they have the disabled one anyways if no one is using it. I want to give this place 2 stars. But yet, I’m pretty happy with the pancakes here. So yeah go for the pancakes and not the ribs. For me the price is a bit over price for the taste of it.

Located in Northmead, this particular venue is not conveniently located near public transport, so hop in a car! If you dare. If you want to be pestered every 5 minutes while you work out your order, if you want to be rushed into ordering by a barely coherent waiter, if you want your chips to arrive cold, only to be sent back and never returned, if you want a stingy amount of wedges with your pork ribs, or if you enjoy generally crappy service, please go here. That said, the food is still delicious, if you’re willing to put up with the frustration of incompetent waiters. I do enjoy their vegetarian selection, particularly the spinach and feta crepes. although whether they’ll ever arrive is a different matter entirely. Good luck to you!
