Leighton Beach

Just north of Leighton Beach is Leighton Dog Beach and you’ll recognise it by the Ice Cream truck that usually is parked at the top of the car park. Not a bad idea to grab some refreshment or ice cream before heading down the stairs to the beautiful blue azure. We love bringing our dogs here as they are welcome off-​leash and the people who frequent it are very amazingly friendly. Pristine waters, coupled with beautiful Limestone features makes this one of the most picturesque beaches Perth has to offer.

Love this beach because of it’s versatility. Great ped beach as well as a great place to surf. Just don’t walk too far north on the sidewalk along the beach, you’ll surely step in dog poo!

There are so many nice beaches in Perth that it can be often difficult to pick and choose. Leighton beach is nice and quiet most of the time and has a nice green barbecue area behind the dunes.
There is a kiosk incase you get thirst form all the sand and salt and also public toilets in the surf life saving club.
It has only been built up this year with the development of large expensive apartments but this doesn’t ruin the quiet ambience of the beach.
It’s easily accessible from North Fremantle train station.
