Savers The Recycle Superstore

This place is the king of Op Shops! There’s so much here that it looks like a massive department store! If you’re down this way definitely give it a check out! There’s clothes, shoes, books, kids stuff, painting, kitchen stuff, dvds and much more! The stuff is also cheap!

Savers is an excellent budget superstore. They have an amazing range of items with everything from books to clothes and you can certainly get a good deal. A pair of shoes purchased here for $ 10 turned out to have a recommended retail price of $ 180 and they were pretty much brand new. There is a good range of costumes too and even jewellery too.
The whole setup is nothing like any other second hand shop I have seen. There are expensive items, the staff wear uniforms and there are even little mini trolleys that can be used throughout the store. Quite amazing for such a type of store. It has entirely changed my perception of what second hand sales could be like. I am definitely a fan and love grabbing a bargain or a cheap second hand book here.

Wow, this is a very upmarket op shop! I confess I’m not really an op-​shopper — I think I overdid that in my teens ;) But my partner convinced me that I had to at least visit, and we had a *stack* of clothes and books to donate so we came here.
Firstly, we received a discount just because we donated quite a bit. That is quite an incentive, considering we all probably have stuff that we don’t need. Saying that, the items are so cheap a discount isn’t really necessary (but would be an incentive to a lot of people!).
Secondly, this is a very neatly presented store — everything is sorted by type of garment, then by size. Very easy to find what you want, and very cheap and clean. The aisles are nicely spaced so you aren’t bumping into other people too often, and staff are very friendly.
I still avoid op shops when I can, but I think I could be convinced to visit again ;) Very impressed!

I haven’t picked up too many items from Savers that have been added to my regular wardrobe, but I if there’s a costume party looming this is my first stop.
I’ve managed to piece together so many costumes from here — from vintage doctor whos, to Dolores Umbridge and Luna Lovegood. We also found some great pieces for a Downton Abbey themed night that never went ahead.
I also think they’re great for props, and for picking toys up for the kids. Our cubby house is practically furnished by Savers.
Savers isn’t a real charity shop, while they do support good causes this is still a profit business. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t good reasons to shop here. Not only do you save money, but shopping second hand also helps reduce waste.
Savers is really well designed. It’s easy to find exactly what you’re looking for. And none of the disappointment of finding the perfect outfit only to pull it out and see its not in your size.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good opp shot, but I hate that this is all the way out in Noarlunga, especially when I like to do all I can to avoid the Noarlunga Centre, as it’s not my favourite shopping complex.
But on with my review. Savers is like a department store opp shop. If you’ve never been, it is worth going to check out.
My hubby hates opp shops, but little does he know half the clothes I buy him come from opp shops.

It may be far if you don’t live in this suburb but this is my favourite place to get me some fantastic threads!
Adelaide is extremely lucky to have a Savers here as I know there isn’t one in Queensland.
Huge premises with loads of racks dedicated to the ladies, men and children. Expect clothings to be in excellent condition, save for a slight tear (I found a zipper that didn’t work and a small hole in a dress) as expected for preloved clothing.
At my last visit during their 50% clothing sale, this place was crammed with ladies and men! Men was filling up their baskets with office shirts, pants and jeans. It’s great to see the sustainable clothing movement catching up with the men folks too.
Every aisle is designated to a ladies dress, jeans, short blouses, long blouses, casual jackets and so forth. It makes shopping here functional and at ease.
I found plenty of costume dresses, masks and wigs, some for the kids perfect for the Book Parade Walk.
The bric a brac shelves are amazing, all dedicated to iron items, wood, homewares, art work, paintings and books.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone who’s wanting to have a wardrobe makeover or add some personal touches to their existing home interior.

Located a ‘mere’ 40mins train out of Adelaide is the MASSIVE Savers recycled clothing store. As this was the first Savers I have been in I don’t know if they’re all this big, but compared to the cramped Church OP Shops I generally inhabit this place felt like a giant football field. Except not filled with annoying sports obsessed freaks and instead with clothes.
On entry you are given a drag-​able trolley that functions as both a toboggan and a great place to dump the wares you will inevitably find. Because despite how many pep talks you give yourself before entering, the minute you enter a recycled clothing store of this size it will suddenly become essential to get a DVD of ‘Australian Idol Uncut: Dicko dishes it’.
We managed to score three tees, 2 dresses and a cardigan for 15 bucks. Worth the 40min train ride with questionable fellow passengers.

One question: why on earth is savers all the way out in Noarlunga? I’d never even *been* to Noarlunga before I visited Savers, and it felt like the end of the earth.
Despite the 45 or so minute drive from my neck of the woods, it is pretty much worth it.
This is the supermarket of op shops. No quaint old ladies at the counter, no piles and piles of thrown-​together goodies, no cramped musty smelling racks. Instead, there are fluro lights, well-​organised racks (and racks and racks) of clothing, organised by style and gender, clean and orderly home wares, books, toys, DVDs and trinkets… the list goes on.
It’s a well-​oiled machine. I’d been to Savers in Melbourne before and it was basically a hipster free-​for-​all. Girls with Chanel bags buying batik jumpsuits, boys in wayfarers nabbing ironic 90s tees. While the Adelaide store didn’t have quite the same hipster factor, it’s a great place to find quality second-​hand clothing at pretty freaking great prices. I nabbed a $ 7 oversized jumper and a tee dress for $ 4.
Definitely worth checking out despite the far from central location.

This place is just a massive Op Shoppers paradise! I notice online that they have them in other states but this is the first I have seen or been into and the only one in SA at this stage. I could not believe how huge it was the first time I went in there. You could spend hours browsing in this store.
They have everything pre-​loved from clothes, furniture, electrical, toys, games, books, curtains, towels, bedding, shoes even some special things in a locked cabinet near the checkouts. Some of the smaller items, like kitchen utensils and small toys, they have wrapped together and sell as a pack for only a few dollars. I managed to get a fantastic game for my son there that he just loves and it’s so simple but i have never seen it in a shop before. He has had hours of play from it and will continue to use it for a while linger yet and it was only $ 4.00! No problems with returns as long as you have your receipt and it’s within a timely manner since the purchase date. All the electrical items they sell have to be tagged and tested prior to sale so I haven’t had any issues anyway.
Even better if you have stuff to get rid of at home they have a bin at the front of the store you can deposit items into. And to take it one step further when the store is open so is the back door and you can just drive around there and they will take any donations straight out your car for you. Makes it easier than trying to shove a garbage bag of stuff in a donation bin somewhere. Plus you can take items that won’t fit in one of the bins so you can get rid of anything there.
Definitely a place I will visit every now and then just to see what’s on offer as stock is always changing. And as they say — someone else’s trash may be your treasure!
