Marakech. I came here after I had tried their iced tea which is available at my local IGA in Summer Hill. I wanted to get to the source. Can you get better service? No. The staff looked more than happy to be here and they were right onto me when I walked in. Being a tea noob, they showed me all kinds of wondrous blends. They have a tasting station. Limited edition flavours, and a fridge with some of their iced varieties. Is tea the new black?(pun intended) it would seem so. Not cheap. I paid $ 22 for a box of limited edition tea called«deliciously dreamy». They call them gift boxes, but I only saw one other way they package it, and that’s in a similar form to a bag of coffee. Most boxes start at around $ 14. If you need a gift for a tea lover, I would call this tea Mecca. All of the cups and all of the strainers and great service from the lovely ladies who were working that day.

The lovely people in T2 always know their shiz when it comes to tea. And being that I’m a total teetotaller these days this shop always gives me warm fuzzies. I have a tea shelf at home that is fit to bursting. If you have any questions or want to know anything about a particular brand of tea, or just have a chat about what might help with things like cramping to soothing sore throats. The tea for everything and everyone! And the lovely sales staff are not adverse to sending you home with a «sample packet» to try before you buy. I’m always in love with the pots & crockery in here — however since it’s on the pricey side I usually only tend to get cubes of tea. Although I did walk out with some lovely Japanese imported hand printed cups once. Such an expensive purchase, but dear gods, they are just divine. Most other women have this issue with handbags. My vice is tea. And shoes. However don’t come here for shoes, the sales people are quite attached to theirs. The tea on the other hand, definitely come here for!

I have never seen so much tea in all my life. I had no idea that this much tea even existed, did someone finally make that ludicrous deal with china? Was it all here? Strawberries and Cream, Citrus Punch, Tears of Buddha. A myriad of colourful teas with colourful names stacked on the walls of T2. I guess if Arnold Schwarzenegger ever came here, he’d be the good guy.(Editors Note: That was a bad and obscure joke about T2.) There are more green teas on the front display than I thought there were red teas, green teas, white teas and black teas all together. Tea cups, pots, thermoses; a taste testing stall of iced tea by the counter. The woman at the counter offers me help, I tell her that I’m just browsing, I’ve never been in here before, she says, «Welcome to T2.» «Thanks», I say. I make my way up the back, survey the pyramid stand of cups and imagine what a bull would do in here, he’d probably use the gift voucher he got last christmas, buy some Apple flavoured tea. I try the samples, some a little bland, but ultimately refreshing and sure to be doing the body good.

Come here for all your tea-needs. They have beautiful packaging which means that these little boxes of tea leaves make brilliant presents. They also have a huge variety of tea ware — perfect if you need a leaf strainer, a flask, tea pot or tea cups. For the person that has everything, you can never have enough tea. It’s not just any old tea, either. They have a wide variety of leaves: yellow, white, green, oolong, black, scented, herbal, fruit — you name it, they’ve probably got it.
