Not the worst but not the best place to get your claws painted in the Inner West. The trouble with Sleek Nails is that the service varies hugely between staff members. I visted with my best friend and we each got started at the same time. Her nail artist was slow and careful, paid attention to detail and put a bit of effort into the hand and arm massage. My nail artist however, couldn’t get me out of there fast enough. It’s not as though my nails were poorly done or messy but a manicure is about the whole experience and my experience for was rushed. There wasn’t a line up of customers waiting at all and I ended up being finished about 10 minutes before my friend.

My best manicures have been from here. They both lasted over two weeks, which is beyond the promised minimum expiry of a shellac manicure. Wish I had gone here for my most recent one, too. The thing I like best is their customer service — not afraid to take their time, allowed me to properly cure the shellac polish, and give a nice hand massage at the end. They stock a full and ever expanding range of CND and OPI shellac colours, as well as a rainbow of regular nail polishes from OPI. Their cuticle gel and finishing oil also smell nice. The tv is always on which annoyed me at first but eventually became incorporated into the relaxing experience. It’s off the main street tucked into a mall of sorts, so it’s quieter than a store with direct street frontage. Pricing is standard for all treatments. They also have a private waxing room, although I have not used that service.

Sneaky, rip off, rude. AVOID! I asked about the price when I walked in. The staff did not make it clear and charged more than she initially stated. All the staffs were rude. It wasn’t about the money anymore. It was their attitude that made the situation worse. I wouldn’t have said anything for this misunderstanding if they were being nice. They were sneaky in my point of view regarding this matter and were trying hard to charge more. They yelled at me and after I paid, they told me to get lost. Such customer service exists?

Tom needs to learn that he can’t treat his paying customers like shit! I have been going every 3 weeks for an infill for a little while now — purely because he is the only half decent nail artist in the area. Today was my last visit. There is zero communication from these guys; in fact they don’t even greet you hello. When i asked a simple question about my nails today i got a rude accusation that made me feel like a child. Then Tom ‘slapped his face on his forehead’, as i could not understand his broken english. Shape up guys — or you won’t be there for much longer. Im utterly disgusted.

Zero stars, minus if I could! I have just walked out after a 2 minute eyebrow wax with one eyebrow that has a hole where no hair is right in the centre. I look like a Liverpool lad! The other eyebrow is double thickness and cut short three quarters the length of my actual eye. I am horrified and this makes me look ABSOLUTLY ridiculous. Thanks a lot for such a bad service on something that is RIGHT on my face that cannot be hidden or covered up. STAYAWAY from here, I guarantee you will be grateful you did.

Clean and efficient. The pedicure looks great. But the staff barely communicated with me and kept pushing gossip magazines my direction which I was not too keen on. I would go again. It met expectations but was not anything special.

Great place for manicure or pedicure. Staff is really friendly and they will do a great job too. Prices are really reasonable.

I really like this place, everyone there is really nice and friendly and really know what they are doing. Their prices are really reasonable and the shop is conveniently placed near Fitness First which makes it easy to keep up regular appointments.

Be greeted by a wall of varnish. Select from every OPI nail lacquer colour for your claws and paws at Sleek Nails. Be complimented and made to feel fantastic by Tom the manager who is totally positive about his work and happy to help. They operate extended hours, so there’s always time for a manicure. If you are into a touch of glam a full set of acrylic nails is available for $ 35. If you have time book in for waxing, eyelash extensions and tinting here too. All the staff seem very hard working and trendy so if you’re like me — a bargain hunter, this could be your one stop nail shop found.
