When there’s two elite reviews, one bad and one good, it’s hard to know which way to go. So, because we found ourselves in Toowoomba, hungry for a good pizza on a Sunday night, we decided to forge on and make up our own minds. Ok… so the menu put me off right at the start. Why? 1. Chicken doesn’t belong on a pizza. 2. Satay sauce doesn’t belong on a pizza. 3. More than 5 toppings don’t belong on a pizza… etc etc But I was slightly reassured that the man making the pizza closely resembled Super Mario, so we ordered. We received a medium sized pizza that weighed about the same as 3 normal pizzas. It was an inch deep with a nuclear-brown crust on top. And the taste? Urgh… Sickening. Too too much topping, super oily with a soggy base. Anyways, so I’m hoping this review will help others facing the same dilemma as us, looking for a good pizza in Toowoomba: basically, if you like your pizza to resemble something that you would buy from Pizza Hut, but with double the toppings, then come here. But if you like your pizzas thin-crust, traditional Italian with simple toppings… Then keep looking! And let us know if you find it!

Look, I know I should work on an adjusted scale for Toowoomba’s dining scene — I really do try to — but I take my pizza pretty damn seriously and this was disappointing, especially given that this is lauded to be the best pizza in Toowoomba. As a traditionalist, I like it simple. Here, the crust is a little too thick for my liking and I prefer a good spread of high quality toppings over an overload of okay quality toppings. It certainly didn’t help that my cheese was over-baked. Also, the vegetarian options are pretty abysmal. I actually would love to support this local business over the chains in the area but it just didn’t live up to the hype.

This is the best pizza in Toowoomba! We order«The Lot» once or twice a month. The crust is thin and crispy, the pie is loaded with tasty goodness(they don’t skimp on toppings), and the toppings are way better quality than other pizza places in town. Since we have become regulars, they have been throwing in a complementary garlic bread! Sweet! All in all, you get way better pizza for less dough here, pun intended…
