Fantastic meals. Very nice food. Very very upset with the cost of drinks. 41 dollars for 3 beers seems excessive to me… Not happy about that.

*Review incomplete Cool pub, with a tasty menu, although I wouldn’t recommend the parma. Nice setting with a huge beer garden. A little something for everyone here

Unbelievable! I’m not kidding– this is only like my 3rd ever review but had the burger in the ‘pub’ section of the Newport bar and it was absolutely the best I’ve ever had– the prices were quite steep and I was bitching to myself on the way back to my table after ordering but once I actually started eating the food I said to my GF that I would have paid double! ~THEEND!

A return visit to the beer hall saw me trying several beers and staying for dinner, we had a pizza each, vey tasty and just the right size for sharing amongst the 2 of us. I had the pizza with chorizo while I like my chorizo spicy, this was not quite as hot as l like it but nonetheless tasty anyway. My significant other had the prawn pizza and it was down right delicious as well. Next visit the Wine Bar.

Heaps of beers to chose from — they’ve got a proper Beer Menu… and the Beef Burger is a must have

Did someone say new beer hall two blocks from my house? And my face lights up like a Japanese animé character! I used to hang out at the Junc when it was a trashy, nothing too spectacular pub that was nice and close. My local. Soon after the business went under and someone else took over, and that place got really lost, somewhere along the way. Thank god it has returned as one of my new favourite pubs! The selection of beers is certainly admirable. They seem to change all the time. The food… Well, I had the burger and it was tiny. Like, literally miniature. So I won’t be ordering that again. It’s nice to have somewhere to stumble home from again. Big fat smile on my face =]

The west just keeps getting better and better y’all. I was so thrilled when I saw the sparkling façade of the renovated Junction Hotel in Newport. It used to be a sketchy dive geared towards pokie players and VB lovers: Not my bag, no, no, no. Anyways, those days are over as the new Junction features a wonderful array of craft beers and tasty victuals. Well informed and friendly bartenders and a bright open space are the other draws. Great addition to the westside: Get down there kids!

Picture this, Newport 2012… the best beer hall within city limits?!? Yeah, I was sceptical at first, being invited by a friend to sample this untested find. However I was wrong in my miscast aspersions. Sorry friend. This place is a secret that needs to be let out! The Junction Hotel Newport has been reimaged in a major way. The venue now sports a micro beer hall and a separate wine room, both featuring gourmet grazing plates that will leave your taste buds satisfied and wallet full :-). As for the beer hall, there is a lot to distinguish this place from other venues that wear the«indie» beer badge of honour. I like the beer tasting paddle for example. Choose any four beers to sample and have them placed on a wooden paddle for your drinking convenience. $ 12 is all this will set you back. There is much boutique beer choice here too, from Beechworth to the Mornington Peninsula and far abroad. After food? Well, it is delish Trish! While the mains look great, I tried ordering my way through the smaller dishes, tapas style. Every morsel made for great conversation and admiration. Try the hand cut chips served out of a paper bag, or the grilled Kransky with pickled red cabagge, Polish style. Ribs, deep fried chickpeas etc, etc. Serving sizes are ample. The crowd(until word gets out ;-)) is the local friendly crew. But be warned, every table was full. Worth a visit and, if your not local, a premeditated excursion! I will be back, the adjacent wine room is next on the list.
