Fantastic! Had a wonderful bruschetta dish for breakfast with poached eggs, pesto, and tomatoes soaked overnight in balsamic vinegar. Delightful.

Venue is amazing but I’m sorry to say that’s as far as it goes. I’ve been there for brekky our meals took forever and all came out separately not to mention the toast was black! I can’t believe it was allowed to leave the kitchen. We gave it another go for dinner and had the same problem, some people on our table had finished their meals before ours came out and we all ordered at the same time. It’s a nice place to go for some drinks however we won’t be back for a meal.

The Edwards Bar is an interesting space and a great experience. It’s a popular location for presentations and networking events as there’s a big room to the side. The only problem is, that room isn’t licensed and so you can’t bring your drinks in there. I think they might have had some RSA problems because I’ve also been having dinner with a group and some of us got cut off(couldn’t buy more alcohol) which is a bit odd for a restaurant/bar. It’s because of the weird liquor rules that I’ve only given it 4 stars. The décor is so beautiful here. Lots of polished concrete and exposed steel. The meals are delicious with lots of changing specials. If you want an intimate dinner, you might find it too noisy, the acoustics aren’t amazing. And food prices feel a little expensive but servings are generally for sharing. Check it out for after work drinks and bar snacks.

Hreat venu, great food, coffee and cocktails. Only downside is that the music is too loud to hear each other over lunch.

This venue is a beautifully fitted out place for dining. Its organic and rustic feels adds to the dining experience. The food and drinks can be inconsistent depending on staffing and the Evening menu caters to an unusual«group orientated» setting. With large and expensive meals it is difficult to dine with a group of 2 – 4. They cater for beer drinkers with a large selection.

The Edwards has a rather distinctive industrial décor, which makes it one of the more unique eating places around town. The drinks are a bit pricey, but the food is absolutely top notch and fantastic spot for fans of live music . They do not take reservations, but you can grab a seat at the bar and the hostess will call your phone when a table has become available.

Such a cool industrial atmosphere! Loved it. The place is a bit on the pricier side, but the portions are massive! Others in my group got full breakfasts and loved them, but I just had a coffee and some bacon and both were excellent. Don’t know how many people know about it either, since it’s tucked away across from Spotlight/Anaconda but I definitely recommend.

Newcastle take their empty and disused spaces seriously. The Edwards is no exception with the warehouse size café-cum-restaurant-cum bar being a laundromat in a former life. Signs of said past-life remain with light fittings being made from old dryer drums and the old steamer now part of the kitchen. Upon recommendation from a friend we arrived to The Edwards, set in the back industrial streets of Newcastle West, for a late breakfast. Mid-week mornings are clearly a sweet time to enjoy the space without hoards of punters(we’re told it gets busy later in the week and weekends for both breakfast and dinner). It’s a peculiar mix of industrial chic, 70s brickwork and a corner reminiscent of an Aspen ski chalet. The open kitchen provides ample opportunity to watch the team in motion as we did this morning watching the house granola being taken from the ovens. The menu is as uncomplicated as the interior of The Edwards with six or seven signature dishes with a spotlight on the fresh, wholesome and warming for a winter’s day. He ordered the savoury mince with streaky bacon and an egg over easy(this mince was the bomb. Talk about ordering envy) and I the smoked trout(which came with a fennel, radish and rocket salad) with a carrot and corn fritter and poached egg. Coffee, using a local blend by Suspension Roasters, was subtle enough that it was easy to drink two coffees over breakfast without feeling any coffee overdose. For $ 12-$ 15 a breakfast the servings are more than ample, if not surprisingly large. Take it as a sign that we were both still«full» at around 2pm this afternoon. I don’t think I’ve been so impressed by a café breakfast in a long time. Having a sneak look at the dinner and lunch menu it all flows on from breakfast featuring affordable and quick lunch options like a steak burger for $ 12 through to their version of a poached chicken salad. Dinner, similarly, features ingredients like wood smoked ocean trout, roast beets and seasonal meat dishes. Until we meet again I’ll be dreaming of trying your Cold Drip Negroni…
