Great location for a quick stop over in Newcastle. The rooms are as you would expect from this quality of hotel chains. They were clean, well appointed and surprisingly quiet. The location is ideal for a sporting event as the hunter stadium was a quick cab ride and only a stones throw from Westfield and 5 minutes from Charlestown Square. Easy to find coming in from the northern end of the city and the off street secure parking was handy. The restaurant was relaxing and food was exceptional. Advise booking otherwise due to its apparent popularity, you may need to queue to be seated. Breakfast was a little on the expensive side for what was on offer though.

We stayed here and dined in the restaurant the rooms were clean and amenities were perfect the bed was very comfortable. The food from the restaurant was fabulous and very large servings. There was a great band on too so it was a one stop night out for us.

I agree with the previous reviewer, rooms are hit or miss. After two successful stays, I was placed in a disabled room, the air conditioning smelled of mildew. They placed me in the room I’d usually stayed at without any fuss, but I noticed that it too may have been slightly mildewy. The first time I came here a few years back, I was very impressed. Since then, there are things that are missed, like lots of fingerprints on things, that kind of thing. It wouldn’t take much to make it feel much more polished, as for the price, the bedding, carpet and paintwork is very decent, and at least some of the bathrooms were renovated a few years back.

I’ve stayed here several times all work related I keep heading back so that’s a good sign. It is rated NRMA4 stars I would say more like 3.5 some rooms are better than others. Good pub with good food. I will be back
