When you first walk in, you notice the old school music! Mainly 70s and 80s which I totally love :) Not a lot of tables in the place but they have utilised as much space as they could. Really love the wide range of dishes you can pick from. I ordered the House Cured Tasmanian Salmon which was really refreshing and light. There was plenty of basil pesto dressing all over the spinach, haloumi, egg and salmon. The pulled pork hollaindaise had a much richer and heavier flavour. The hollaindaise sauce was quite creamy. Coffee was good! You can definitely order a large mug of coffee if you are feeling like one of those days. The bf ordered a super size version of my coffee. Unfortunately, forgot to take a photo!

Boubar has a pretty cool vibe and even though it looks small, it’s quite deceptive. There’s many tables to choose from, both inside and out. It’s fitted out quite hipser-ish and the staff are super friendly. I went for breakfast last week before a course at the Nedlands Yacht Club and had an amazing Grilled Asparagus, Sourdough, Spinach, Eggs, Balsamic combo that was to die for. The coffee was okay, I don’t think it is AMAZING, but it was definitely welcomed to wake me up! Like another reviewer said, they don’t allow take away coffees to dine in — which I found quite an abrasive sign to have up in your café, but I suppose they have had issues with it and feel the need to quite publicly state that! All in all, not a bad little place to stop in for breakfast and a coffee if you’re in the area but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit!

Great vibe here. Really nice menu and they always have great specials. They do nice muffins too. Service can be a bit slow sometimes but it does be worth the wait. It’s in a nice quiet area of Nedlands. Never any parking problems. It can be a bit cold in the winter months!

had breakfast here with a friend on a saturday morning. your average breakfast with eggs, toasts, etc(the usual). kind of pricey-ish for students, but the taste is ok.

This place has a cool vibe, some cosy booths and seems to be very in favor with locals, yet… it is my last choice for coffee in the area. How’s the coffee? Great! Music? Appropriate. Crowd? pretty relaxed. So what’s this girl’s problem? Well I just have one tiny hang-up with this place. They have this policy of «no take-away coffees to dine-in» which I find quite abrupt and just unnecessary. I was in there last sunday and decided to grab a take-away coffee and head home to get back to work with what I had been doing. Then I spy the financial review… Hmm I may take a flick though. Then, Coffee up! «Thanks, have a good afternoon» says the barista as she hands me my coffee. I am aware of the policy and so I take it this may be her way of saying«take-away that take-away, please», seeing as how I am seated directly in front of her with my bag slouched on the floor and the paper open to page 12. I ignore her message and sit down and do a quick flick… Then I hear her explain to the lady ordering«we actually don’t do take-aways to dine in». The confused customer turns to look at me in her periphery, body language reads«well what do you think that is?». I can’t take it anymore! I put the paper away and leave with my take-away coffee. I have done this at other places and it has never been a problem. Milk’d for example, where we have a joke with them when we get coffee-to-go that we «are actually taking-away our take-aways today». I just think if a customer is paying $ 4.20 for a coffee they should be made feel welcome, whether they intend to drink it in the café, or not.

Rocketfuel(just down the road) is still my fave coffee in Perth, and honestly one of the best cups of coffee I have ever had anywhere, but Boubar definitely whips up a solid, non-bitter coffee — kudos there. I found their lunch menu pretty limited though — less than 10 options(including the 3 sandwiches in the display), and almost everything had meat mixed into it, so vegetarians would have maybe 1 option here that wasn’t a pastry. I had a pretty fancy gourmet salad($ 15) that came with 4 pieces of toast, and though it was quite good, it was also a bit pricey. The macadamia cookie I ordered was overcooked and very dry.

Boubar is a great little spot on Hampden Road for coffee. I stop by a few times a week before work, and always get parking out the front. Its a bit silly but I really love the doorway with ‘Boubar’ mosaiced into the floor — I think it is little touches like this that demonstrate the level of quality the owners aspire to.

Cute little café. Super friendly service and great coffee. I was parked in the 15min spot so it was a quick love affair. Next time I’m in the area I want breakfast — their menu looks amazing!

Freakin’ love this place. The coffee is, quite frankly, fucking amazing. They’re quick too — they had delivered two espressos to my table before I was able to pay and sit down. Wow! Of course, no café would get a 5-star rating without being chilled and friendly — they are both, to the max. Oh, and the muffins are to die for. Go here.

This hidden little coffee gem has a lovely atmosphere and the seating outside is almost reminiscent of Western European seating. It is a great summer spot to sit and read a morning newspaper over your morning coffee and maybe a morning muffin, not to mention your morning people watching. The bircher muesli is quite nice(I realise that it is quite hard to go wrong with muesli, yoghurt and honey but sometimes it is all some people need and you can be surprised). All in all it is a relaxed spot to catch up on some me-time or some reading and some caffeining(its a new word I promise).

Boubar is one of my new favourite discoveries, nestled on Hampden Road this little rustic café with its brick façade, Stormie Mills mural, intimate and cosy seating is a reminder of what little cafes should be about. It reminds me a bit of a café I went to in Florence, everything tightly nestled together with seating outside — ideal for people watching or the fresh air, seating inside on their comfy leather sofas or on bar stools in a very narrow space between the inside of the café and the outside façade — very interesting and perfect to wait for your take away. I ordered their Blate — which was toasted Turkish bread, bacon(which I took out as I’m a pescatarian), avocado, lettuce and the most delectable cranberry relish — Boubar is an absolute delight, you can get everything from cold and hot drinks, to sweet treats and quick light meals. If you’re in the area make sure to stop by this place is really gorgeous and the food is great.
